I know she wasn't born in Alaska, but as the ex-governor of that State, who was not capable to remain on her post and opted for abandoning ship, she is for all intended purposes, an Alaskan. Now, what makes her a hick has nothing to do with where she was conceived, or where she was delivered, or even less where she lives. It has to do with her education, or lack of it. And I really don't care if she had one (education) or not, because what really counts is what we hear and see from her today on TV. How much more can we lower the bar? With Sarah Palin we have touched the ground already, thus lowering the bar more than it is will be impossible. The real problem with species like Palin is that indoctrinating the masses becomes an easy task, especially when the masses are just as ignorant as the instigator. They grow like wild mushrooms, and most of them are poisonous and very dangerous too. Such is the case with Sarah Palin and her "Tea Party" followers. The mushrooms are growing and spreading, and although some of them may be edible, the majority are not. They are, like Sarah Palin, toxic and extremely harmful.
The other day, watching the news on MSNBC, I heard Palin encouraging road-rage among ignorants like her, urging those tea party zombies (by the way... what do these people live off when they spend so much time demonstrating and carrying their own manifesto on signs?) to stop cars with Obama stickers and confront them with her highly literary intellectual phrase "How's that hopey-changey thing working for you?" I have an Obama-Biden sticker on my rear bumper. It is a very simple one, all it says is "Obama/Biden", nothing else. But now I will add one saying

We may have plenty of ignorant people like you, but fortunately, there are much more that can think for themselves, without the influence of the visceral way you approach your pathetic Tea Bag no-brain followers. A larger majority in this country know how stupid, frustrated and malevolent you are, and know that eventually your lack of class, poor judgement in the statements you make, and your "hopey-changey" lexicon, will end up burying you back to the same obscurity you came from, because how long can you keep citing cliches and irresponsible statements from your mouth? Once you vomit everything that's bothering you, there will be no more you can puke. Face it, you can't rise above the mediocrity level, where you'll always be.

WHEN THE INSANE GO MARCHING IN

I am still laughing! I am talking about the orchestrated march by the Zombies in Washington. Orchestrated and coordinated by the real jokers, not the one portraying Obama as a fascist.
Considering that 70,000 Zombies marched to display their racial hate to Obama, and considering that Zombies leave their graves at night (I think), it occurs to me, to really screw them up, to change the signs at the entrance of their cemetery pointing all the way to Rush Limbaugh's desk where he clowns and bounces for three hours Monday through Friday at his Manhattan Bunker. What a sight to see all those Zombies walking back early in the morning, before the sun rises, to Limbaugh's place to prepare for the next " When the insane go marching in" demonstration. And...since Limbaugh is such a showman...he will no doubt take advantage of this opportunity to call his radio talk show "A Family Reunion " and make another bundle of millions of dollars, while he rants against health care reform for those 47 million of citizens, whose yearly income put together does not get close to the amassed fortune this clown possesses.
These 70,000 morons, screaming and yelling explicits that I don't even dare to repeat, showed up with signs and banners to protest against Obama's "Big Government Spending and Control ". Following is an example of those anti-big government spending and too much involvement:

" THIS TIME WE DID NOT BRING GUNS..." (was that a threat?)
"UNDOCUMENTED RUNNING THIS COUNTRY"
And many, many more with similar messages. Obviously Zombies don't have a clue about the subject they were supposed to complain against, and it was anarchy at its best. Kind of " Bring your own insult against our President. The best one gets a private deluxe new grave next to future prominent Zombies, such as Michele Bachmann, Joe Wilson, Eric Cantor, Glenn Beck, or any other paranoid delusional of your choice" . Nothing to do with the real issues, of course.

I read, whenever I get a chance since I am so busy with the entertainment provided by the right wing racists, Bill Maher blogs. He tells it like it is and I agree with him, that Democrats are cowards. They give in to any
outrageous comment, critique, lie, insult or extra terrestrial statement
made by the Party of NO, as if they were the minority in the Senate and the House. We voted for you, Democrats! Do what you promised you would do! Forget the approval of the right wing, after all the Zombies support would always be very shaky! (pun definitely intended).

I should mention that the large majority of the 70,000 Zombies have no idea of what Socialism, Communism,Marxism, Fascism, and any other ideology means or stands for. That is why I find it hilarious and as funny as the famous quote by Ms. Barracuda: "I can see Russia from my window" when trying to prove her knowledge about foreign affairs.

48 YEARS LATER

My arrival to this beyond-the-imagination country took place in June 0f 1961. I was 20 years old. My expectations of this experience when I first made contact with American soil were met and surpassed. I was totally in awe. This was the land I always dreamed of. Everything was bigger and everything was exciting. I was a young man in search of a future and I found it. The land of the free and the land of opportunity. It was up to me to make the best of it, to take advantage of the best this country had to offer to someone with ambitions and someone who had to flee a Muslim country engulfed at the time by anti-European feelings. A normal reaction to many years of foreign domination and colonization, but very scary when you didn't know whether you could reach your school alive or be counted as one more fatality during those explosive days. It has been 48 years already since my Panam landing at Logan Airport on the way to its final destination Idlewild Airport in New York, the capital of the world.
Many things have changed since. Some for the best, most for the worst. Morocco has now been an independent nation since 1956. It has had its up and downs, but it seems that it has prospered and modernized among its natives. Women, although still second rated citizens, are back on the beach wearing bikinis, and in the office running their own companies. They've come a long way. I still have some friends left over there. They are Muslims and they are good people, with the same problems and same daily situations to face we all face here. They are educated people, not terrorists, as many ignorant extremists here believe only because they are Muslims. We were friends, in spite of me being the son of a Catholic father and a Jewish mother, and them being Muslims. In Tangier we all were educated differently than on other parts of the world. Tangier was international where all religions were accepted and respected. We understood and showed respect toward our professed religions and our customs and traditions.
Unfortunately for us, Americans, born or naturalized, many things in the greatest country in the world, seem to be going downwards on a spiral. We hate more than ever; we are more selfish and do not care about those who lose their homes because of health care premiums and illnesses and pre-existing conditions not covered by blood sucking insurance companies; we are more racist than ever, although we pretend not to be;
we cannot accept that a black person is our new president; we have lost respect for the truth and we are so submerged into our lies that we actually believe they are the truth. We have fallen into the pathological
state of accepting the lie as a truth. We have become more ignorant than ever. Granted that in 1961 we did not know where Hawaii was and some of us still don't know yet. And that in the early 60s racism was a way of life in many parts of this country. I, personally experienced it, indirectly, one day in the summer of 1961, in Los Angeles, California, when I attempted to buy lunch to a black coworker. He was very adamant to accept and going out of the working place for lunch. I insisted and he finally obliged, I guess to convince myself of the reason of his persistence. As we walked down the street to a Coffee Shop, and as I was ready to enter he stopped me and pointed at a sign on the window next to the door: " NO NEGROES ALLOWED".
So, that has not changed in a way, and although "Negros" are allowed now, the rejection still exists at all levels. This is the rejection that's in the air today, We could not define it before the elections. It is clear after Obama was elected. Racism is alive and "well" in this country. I suppose ignorance plays a major part for this disgraceful reality. And ignorance is abundant in the Southern States mainly. Those States that still wave the Confederate flag with preference over the United States flag. Those States that produce bullies and low class citizens such as Congressman Joe Wilson from South Carolina, creating an avalanche of sheep followers, of the same caliber of intelligence, who storm the streets protesting against the help that their President wants to give them to improve their lives, and who have the gall to call our President liar. One of them, an old "lady" with a quote such as "The Muslims are moving in". A complete disgrace of Americans in the view of the rest of the world. Definitely, things have changed here for the worst.
I remember going to Drive-Ins; Diners with roller skate waitresses serving you in your car; playing music in a jukebox for a dime; leaving at night my empty bottles of milk by the door and picking up full ones the next morning; reading pages and pages of "Help Wanted" in every newspaper; going to a Department Store and being swarmed by smiley employees eager to help you; having all the register counter positions in the store occupied by workers; not getting annoying telemarketing calls; going out at night without fear; refueling at a gas station without getting out of your car and getting your windshield washed; not being charged for the delivery of an appliance you spent good money for; talking to a "real" person not to a recorded message; but more important...showing respect to our President. It has all changed for the worse. With very few exceptions, we are a society of takers, of "what's in there for me" characters, of computer controlled minds, of "Face Book", instead of Faces and Books, Internet rather than inter brain. Logic has gone the side way, common sense has no room in our computer; and humanity has a dollar sign.
This is the country I came to in my early years and I integrated with as we all did, from any nation and any religion. This is the country that accepted me, as it accepted everyone who immigrated here, with open arms and with the lemma "if you work and live an honest life you are welcome here". This is the country that made me happy, that I enjoyed for so many years, that made me proud and brave.
Now, 48 years later, this is the country that makes me sad, cautious, and worried. I see too many changes and a tremendous lack of respect and responsibility towards our president, our flag and our freedom.
We need to educate our people. The education system has failed, it has cloystered itself and ostracized from the rest of the world, hence making a large size of its population totally ignorant of the outside world, and not precisely geographically speaking, but of their own personal world. This population is afraid of any changes and they immediately call it socialism or communism, when the reality is that our government needs some times to intervene to avoid new Wall Street frauds, Banks greed, HMOs avarice and control of our lives, and many other injustices we suffer in the hands of unscrupulous companies and individuals whose only goal is to make money at our expense and our misfortune.
Unfortunately these people who protest in the lowest and most uneducated and insulting way, and rally against new ideas submitted by our "Black President", eventually, when this is over and the Health Care reform passes the Senate and Congress and it's made into law, will benefit from it. Jesus Christ offered the other cheek when he was slapped, our democratic government will do the same when those against it will reap the benefits as well. But...Obama, in their narrow and sick minds, will still be "The Black President". The one they will keep attacking and trying to undermine on any and all of his quests, to dig our country out of the deep hole we fell in during some of the worst eight years we ever witnessed and experienced in our short, but proud history.
I don't care if the TV Networks don't have the balls to openly state that what's going on is racism, and if politicians or prominent interviewed people do not dare to make that conclusion either. I am a law abiding citizen, who still loves this country and will fight for it the only way I can now, which is by the freedom of speech given to me by The U.S. Constitution, and I have no fear to say that everything that's happening now against our President Obama is ONLY DUE TO RACISM. Period.
Would we be better off if most of the southern States, such as Texas, South Carolina, Louisiana, Mississippi decided to fight for a Secession and declared themselves another country, like for instance " The Southern States of America"? I don't think so, although sometimes I wonder...I believe there is room for everyone here, even for those who are
constantly verbally abusing our President and our Government with lies and outrageous statements.
Yes, 48 years ago things were much better than now, but as it is said in a marriage...FOR GOOD AND FOR BAD UNTIL DEATH DO US PART.

I have never seen anything like what's happening in this country ever since Obama won the elections. A bunch of wing nuts are taking over common sense and truth, creating confusion among those who cannot think for themselves, and unfortunately there are millions of them in our nation. Lies keep spreading on the Internet at the speed of lightning. More lies are being represented on TV through disgusting ads. And some more on right wing political talk shows, both TV and Radio. It is an avalanche of appalling lies!
Every day a new loony shows up with a statement more outrageous than the previous one by another loser. Not that I am keeping stats on these
deranged right wing republicans, but if I were I am pretty sure my top 3 list of double-tantrum throwers, as of today, would rank like this:
1st: Michele Bachmann. She believes she can run for the U.S. Presidency! And that is why Democrats are after her! She definitely suffers from paranoid delusional syndrome, or PDS, which could also stand for Pathetic Demented Soul.
2nd: Glenn Beck. According to him General Electric (thus also NBC) are COMMUNIST and they show their inclinations by headquartering at the Rockfeller Plaza building. See... Rockefeller was a "progressist" with new ideas to help the people, and so is Obama. You make the connection. And the building displays some communist art, like a sickle and a hammer, and many more bizarre statements by Beck in his "becky wacky" shows.
3rd:Rush Limbaugh. He is still there making incoherent noises, jumping around, and comparing Obama with Hitler.

These three imbeciles, like the majority of anti-Obama protesters act impulsed by the frustration of having lost the elections and to a black person. They are still tantruming on the double, and will continue for the entire two terms that President Barak Obama will run this country. Partidism and racism runs amok. We, unfortunately, are still star years away from liberating ourselves from bigotry, anti-Black and anti-Hispanic feelings. We, in spite of all industrial and technical advances, are still Neanderthals when it comes to social behavior and racial integration. Keep in mind that almost 60 million votes went to McCain/Palin. 60 million people do not want change. They did not want a black president. 60 million people is a very large number for a losing party. It is scary and dangerous when losers do not accept defeat, for they keep looking for revenge at any cost, even if it means constantly lying, carrying guns in open spaces in defiance, or showing total disrespect for their elected President. What will their next move be when the health care reform passes with the "Public Option" forcing insurance companies to be competitive? What will the Republican politicians do when the Insurance companies stop greasing them with big checks to offset competing with the government option plan standards?
There are too many questions to answer, but one reply for sure will be...MORE TANTRUMS. That is what these republicans do best.

SARAH BARRACUDA PALIN

Miss Barracuda is at it again. This time as a private citizen, after abruptly abandoning her job as Governor of Alaska.
She is swimming in deeper waters now and hiding between rocks and coral reef, while catching any moving prey that swims too close to her sharp teeth mouth. That's the barracuda in action.

Because her I.Q. is lower than the water temperature she swims around, every time she opens her mouth it is to make outrageous vile statements. Her latest one is called "Death Panels". In her obsession to survive in the political arena, in spite of her disastrous showing during her calamity campaign, she now is scaring the sheep society that follows her by telling her crowds that the democrats in government will establish groups or "panels" to decide whether one should live or not, based on age, health condition, economic situation, etc. etc.
The "Death Panels" is a fiction tool created by republicans taken from a provision in the Health Care Reform plan, which provides free consultation, if so desired by the patient, that allows his/her doctor to answer any questions regarding wills, end of life previsions and provisions. It is not an imposed directive on anyone to end his/her life. But, leave it to republicans to distort it to their convenience in order to scare the "sheep society" to death (talk about Death Panels!).

Miss Barracuda, or Queen Crab for others, lacks originality, besides other things related to her literate encephalitis, as she will use any mind control tactics invented by her republican comrades to get people (or whatever they are) excited about the prospects of defeating any idea by their "enemies" the liberal-socialist-communist-Marxist democrats who want to change this country to an old USSR. We can take this as an insult to our intelligence and lash back, or we can use it as a model of democracy, where everyone is allowed to say stupid things, hoping that the least dumb statements will outrun the most harming ones so a debate can take place with some common ground. We can't have a debate or an exchange of opinions and ideas if one of the parties is outrageously brainless and acts in bad faith. And we know where Miss Barracuda is coming from, don't we? She will avoid any kind of rational discussion with opponents or media interviewers for the mere fact that she does not know the facts or she will purposely ignore them to slide into her bizarre world of malicious survival mode, where she is most comfortable and where she can hide her ignorance.
There are more than 20 species of barracudas, one of them is known as the Obtuse Barracuda. This one fits very well with Sarah Palin's intellectual description. Another attribute to the barracuda is that they are attracted by jewelry and other shiny objects. Miami, watch out!

WE'VE GOT IT ALL WRONG

Every time I watch the news and see those classless, uneducated, misinformed people shouting and disrupting all the Town Hall meetings regarding Health Care Reform, my blood starts to boil because of frustration and impotence to be right there and call these people by their
real names: IGNORANTS, RACISTS, ZOMBIES, etc. etc.

It is clear that, besides showing to the world that the "Ugly American" is well and alive in the United States, and that they do not have to travel abroad to remind the rest of the world who they are, that their sole purpose is to disrupt any type of dialog between the speakers and the audience. They do not want the good patriotic Americans to get answers and be informed about Obama's plan for reforming Health Care. Their only goal is to torpedo anything that comes out of the Democratic Senate and Congress, mainly because they cannot still accept the fact that they lost, but also because they are radicals with no power, whose moves and screams and shouting and signs are orchestrated by other radicals in power who hate the fact that a black man, democrat, is our president. This is not about Health Care. These people couldn't care less if their HMO would triple or quadruple their monthly payments or if they would be refused assistance at a hospital because their Insurance would turn them down due to a pre-existing condition. To them it is more important to stick to their antiquated radical party beliefs than to provide Health care to 47 million Americans who do not have it. They are, besides stupid, selfish and extremely ignorant; and they qualify under the term I defined radical republicans in another of my blogs, as ZOMBIES. They are strolling through the streets without knowing what direction to go. Thus, if any extreme right wing organization leads them to Town Hall Meetings, that's where they end up, all in disarray, shouting different things at the same time and polluting the air with their obnoxious presence.

So, it is wrong to think that they are there because they don't like Obama's Health Care reform plan. They are there because they are racists, imbeciles, and easily brainwashed by others. Plus...they are not really happy with their lives and have no personal ambition to a better one. They achieved the state of contentment and they are petrified to accept change, even if it means improvement in their pitiful lives.
Among the stupidities instilled in their diminutive brains to shout at these meetings, one stands out....SOCIALISM. They do not want the government to intervene in health care because that, according to them, it is socialism and their narrow minds unable them to see it any other way. So, if I were Obama, I could obtain a hunk of money to offset the Health care reform plan by depriving these idiots from Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, which are all government run plans. How could they fight that? Aren't they against government intervention?
Democrats should have Bouncers at all these Town Hall meetings, who could start kicking these rioters out. If we allow bouncers to do that at private clubs, bars, and other public places, why can't we do that at Town Hall meetings? After all these meetings are to inform intelligent and open minded people who are interested in listening, and they are not being given the same rights as these trash rowdy species. KICK ALL THOSE MORONS OUT and continue with the meetings!
We definitely got it all wrong. We allow these Zombies to shout and scream, under the 1st Amendment protection, but we do not allow the pacific ones to be able to ask questions and be properly informed. Where is the justice here? KICK ALL THOSE MORONS OUT!
Let us not lose sight of the real reason behind these orchestrated demonstrations. The extreme right wing, which apparently has taken over the GOP, wants to create a chaos at these gatherings to the point of scaring the majority of the population, half naive, half ignorant, and 100% easy to manipulate, against anything that the democrats want to undertake to change the fatal course this country was taken by Bush/Cheney and company. Hillary Clinton put it this way: If they see Obama walking on water, their only reaction would be..."Yes, but can he swim?". Need I say more?
Well, maybe yes. The following is an extract of the first amendment, which clearly defines the limits of freedom of speech and the penalties if not observed. Why are we not applying it to these law-breakers? Here it is: " Free speech zones are areas set aside in public places for political activists to exercise their right of free speech as an exercise of what is commonly called TPM or TIME, PLACE, MANNER regulation of speech. Free speech zones are set up by the Secret Service who scout locations near which the president is to pass or speak. Officials may target those displaying signs and escort them to the free speech zones prior to and during the event. Protesters who refuse to go to free speech zones could be arrested and charged with trespassing, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. In 2003, a seldom-used federal law was brought up that says that "willfully and knowingly to enter or remain in any posted, cordoned off, or otherwise restricted area of a building or grounds where the President or other person protected by the Secret Service is or will be temporarily visiting" is a crime."

Hey, let's have these Town Hall meetings protected by the Secret Service and let's apply this ruling made available to us!

Therefore, and once again...KICK THOSE MORONS OUT of the Town Halls and make them stay very far away so no matter how much they scream, bark, or bray, the only ones they can bother is one another and their coward radical right wing-hiding behind the scene-leaders.

HAWAII IS AN ISLAND THAT BELONGS TO KENYA

Yes. You read correctly. According to some fanatic idiots, like for instance Gordon Liddy, Obama was born in a hospital in Mombasa, Kenya, although he cannot mention the name of that hospital, because obviously he is a senile 79 year old man, and his mind works according to his feeble imagination. Add to that the fact that he is one of those Republicans who cannot yet accept the fact they lost the elections and most likely the next one too. Due to the fact that Obama's birth is officially and legally registered in the State of Hawaii, my conclusion is that Hawaii was purchased by Kenya before 1961 or that it is an island in the Indian Ocean that belongs to the powerful country of Kenya. I know I am being outrageous, but not as much as these idiots.

Let us not forget that Liddy was one of those undesirable participants in the Watergate scandal, who was found guilty of conspiracy, burglary and wiretapping and sentenced to 20 years in jail. Unfortunately, he was pardoned by Jimmy Carter after 4 years of serving and he has since been lashing against democrats on a radio show and some books he has written. Anyone can write a book today. Look at me, I write blogs and no one knows who I am, except my family and close friends. Imagine a serious fanatic extremist like Gordon Liddy. He will always have an audience in this country. Like Rush Limbaugh the clown, and Ann Coulter the viper. They can write any books they want and be published.

Fame is acquired through infamous deeds more than through heroism. It's a disgraceful fact of life because it brings money to everyone involved, and money commands our lives.

Inasmuch as Liddy's intentions are to discredit President Obama, mainly because he is a democrat, and secondly because he is black. I think it is important to tell, although it is publicly known, that Liddy, whose, by the way, mustache resembles the one that Adolph Hitler wore, although a little bushier than the WWII "sicko", joined in 1972 a committee to carry out activities against Nixon political enemies. This Committee operated under the name of "CREEP", very appropriate indeed. CREEP stood for Committee to Reelect the President (Nixon). These creeps were able to obtain a budget of $250,000 to function, although their request to Nixon's administration was originally $1,000,000 (Operation Gemstone).

Now, here is my question: Why do we have to give this creep airtime on prime television? He is a convicted felon, he is senile, he is a radical. He is never going to accept the true facts. He will only try to exploit his accusations with no proof whatsoever of his statements to back them up with facts or documents. He will never admit that Obama was born in the USA because his purpose is, like that of many other radical who are still sore and hurting for having lost the elections, to continue hammering till they create an atmosphere of doubt among the huge number of ignorant Americans who still believe Obama is a Socialist Muslim born in Africa.
Proof of their ignorance is the fact that they associate the Muslim faith to Socialism. That is a total incongruity.

I have a solution to end with all these malicious accusations against Obama. Form a group to investigate all the obscure activities of these losers. I am sure that many wrongdoing illegal activities will pop up, enough to put these guys in jail or at least to shut them up once and for all. Unfortunately, Democrats, unlike Republicans, are cowards and will continue opting for abiding by the rules of ethic instead of bending their morals just a tiny bit to crush these cockroaches. By no means I intend to describe Republicans as brave, just fanatic delusional beings who are not afraid of lying to obtain their goals.

Perhaps another solution to ridicule these radicals would be to start spreading the news that the entire Obama's Cabinet was born in Africa too. Say..Biden is a Tanzanian citizen, Hillary was born in Uganda but was brought by her parents to the USA at the age of 2 weeks, and that the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi is a citizen of the Ivory Coast, proof of that is her continuous smile to show her teeth. BY THE BOOK

This is a true story. It is not political. It is about life in the USA by the book. I am so glad it happened to me for it has given me material to ridicule it and enjoy it at the same time.

Around 3 pm this afternoon I decided to go to the Public Library in Tamarac to get some movies I was interested in watching. I brought a list of five of them and stood in line to ask the library worker about these movies. The line was formed by me only. No one behind, but you already know you have to stand in line. That is the routine procedure we've been
trained for anywhere we go, STAND IN LINE even if you are the only one there.
My turn came up. I knew it was my turn because I was the first one there,
actually the only one, as I mentioned before, but I played the game and waited to be called.
Finally the worker, an old lady with a pronounced triple chin, who had been on the phone with someone else, hung up and softly called "May I help you?". I must say with a smile and in a very polite way. I approached her and told her I was looking for some movies. She answered "Give me the titles". I told her I had five and she replied "You are only entitled to three". I thought that she was wrong because you are entitled to take out five DVDs at a time, but I kept quiet, like you have been taught to behave without arguing or trying to make your point.
Thus, I gave her three titles. She only found one, therefore I proceeded to give her the remaining two, based on the fact that according to her I could have three and only one movie was available so far.
As I started mentioning the 4th movie she stopped me: " I said you can only have three, I am sorry, only three".
My reply was: "Yes, but you told me you could only find one, so I can have two more, right?". "No sir, (still very polite I must confess), she answered, Once I enter three titles in the computer that's it".
I was perplexed and could not resist to ask why only three titles could be entered in the computer to find out if they existed or not. Why not two more? Her explanation was by the book. Every customer is only entitled to ask for three titles AT A TIME. That's the key! AT A TIME! The reason is very simple...to avoid holding up the line. As I have already mentioned I was the only one on line! So I tried to explain to her that there was no one behind me. I was not holding anyone up! "Sorry (she continued), but that's the rule".
"OK, what do I do now to find out about the other two titles?"
" You come back and stand in line again for another turn" was her reply.
"Ah, so I can walk out the exit door, turn around, enter again and stand in line once more?"
"Yes sir" (wow, this lady was extremely polite!).
Then, I walked out of the Library (about 10 paces to the door), came back in and stood in line. Again, there was no one standing in line, but me.
She saw me and, I swear to God, she said" "May I help you?"
I looked at her, smiled (almost laughed, but I was able to restrain myself)) and said: "Hi, I am back. Remember me?". No answer to that. She just asked me for the other two titles, thus she definitely remembered me, in spite of the 20 elapsed seconds on my round trip. I gave those titles to her, but these two were not in existence either.
At the end of this "by the book" episode I was told that the only movie she
was able to find would take ten days. Fine with me.
Is this the only encountered I've had with people and organizations who go by the book, regardless of how ridiculous is the interpretation by those who apply it? Of course not, we live according to stupid rules written by lawyers who try to have control of all of us. and by employees of institutions, mainly governmental, whose requirements to hold those jobs are a social security number, proof of citizenship and some type of religious belief. Intelligence and common sense need not to apply.

ELVIS OR MICHAEL?

The list could be endless, depending of whom you ask or in what time we lived. or what kind of music we enjoy better, or how nationalistic we are. There are many factors to choose from to determine who was the greatest talent.
Today, in the year 2009 and for many years to come, perhaps another 50, is Michael Jackson.
That said, let's get down to earth and be a little bit more realistic. Is an entertainer, no matter how great an artist, more important than for instance Fleming? If you forgot who Alexander Fleming was, he discovered PENICILLIN in 1928, which has cured and will continue curing millions of people. Fleming was born in 1881 and died in 1955, two years after Elvis' introduction to the world of music.
Is an entertainer more important than a paint artist, like Michelangelo, or Leonardo, or Velazquez, or Rembrandt, or many other greats alike?
I have this dilemma...who remembers the music of the 30s or the 40s? Obviously people who today are close to the age of 80. When these people leave us who is going to remember the Andrew Sisters or Glen Miller? Very few. But we still see pictures of Wyeth or Winslow Homer's masterpieces. And we still read Cervantes' "Don Quijote de la Mancha", Shakespeare's "Othello", and Dante's "La Divina Commedia". In medicine, art and literature there is no time limit. They last forever.
Unfortunately for entertainment and music, time elapses with time. Songs written, sang and performed yesterday have been or will be forgotten or buried in the cruel reality of time. Imagine, if this planet earth ever reaches the 30th century, who will be singing then "Beat it", or
"Billie Jean"? My guess is no one. But the great immortal works of Dali or Beethoven will prevail and still be there.

I am not trying to put Michael Jackson's popularity down. He was by his own talent one of the greatest entertainers, but the rest of us, who are merely mortal followers, feel today that Michael was more than that, that he was indeed the greatest of them all. I do not share that feeling, perhaps because I believe that there is no ultimate best of anything. No one is the best of everything, unless he is God, like no country is the best country of the world in everything, unless it is a utopic place, and that is not real. Was Michael Jackson real? I think he was. He had virtues and defects, like all of us, he was a superior talent performing, but a total mess in his personal life.
Today's generation, together with the media has made him a superman, close to a God and I believe we've gone over the top.
Michael, like the Beatles, like Elvis, like Sinatra, like many other great singers and performers will be part of the world musical treasure, but that'll be all. No human accomplishments, no hero status, not savior of humanity.
Michael, you made our lives happier and that is perhaps your greatest achievement. Thank you. Rest in peace

WHAT IS SARAH PALIN'S REAL REASON?

Sarah Palin will resign from her post of Governor (Governess?) of the
"Great State of Alaska" (size wise, that is) effective July 26, 2009. Hit the road Jack!

However, I smell a political move here. She's got something up her sleeve. She's stupid, but very wily, and I think this is the beginning of a long range plan for her political ambitions.

The only good thing about her resignation is that this is the kind of news we needed to take a break from Michael Jackson's death, life, music, and the rest of the "who gives a damn" about a mortal who provided us with a new twist in singing and choreographed moves, with dubious sexual behavior in between. We have at least, now, three good days of rest from the Jackson's media bombardment. Too bad it's only three days, or maybe five? because the Jackson paranoia will continue for a long while.

Sarah Palin has said that her resignation is the best decision to maintain the positive course Alaska is on towards a great future of accomplishments. Here is my question (and please forgive me Alaskans): What else can you get from Alaska, besides fish, crustaceans and oil?

The largest state of the Union, with the 47th population does not have much more to offer and due to the freezing conditions most of the year I can't imagine much improvement in their resources and production.

Did she give up because of the latest news about her confrontations with McCain's campaign people? Is she trying to damage McCain in the Senate, although I don't believe he needs more damage than the one He caused to himself by picking her as his running mate. There are many questions to be answered, including the fact that she is abandoning a post she was elected for by the people of Alaska. To me, based on the reasons she has given to justify it, that is absolutely nonsense and very unprofessional. She was elected to do a job and she is quitting, not because a tragic personal or family reason, not because she was caught stealing or any other crime, but because it is her decision. Period.

Thus, be prepared to hear further developments on this resignation. The Palin saga is not over, which is definitely good for the democratic party. While Palin and the other two human misrepresentations, Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter keep barking at the news, the party of NO and hypocrisy is doomed for the next 8 years, at least.

Here is another hypothesis: Sarah Palin realized or was adviced to quit to dedicate time to her education. and she is going to spend these years to learn about world politics, foreign countries, trade agreements, immigration, health care, education, the economy, and other basic facts of today's world we live in. Wait a minute! Why was she chosen to run with McCain then if she was a complete ignorant? Probably because in a party of political zombies she was the only one alive, in spite of her total lack of knowledge.
And last, but not least, could it be that she got a very lucrative offer from the porno industry? ("Sarah does Governor Sanford") Oops... Sorry, I may be crossing the line here.
As of now, all we hear from the media "experts"is that she may go into the world of speeches. That's not too bad considering how much some organizations pay to have controversial people deliver 30 minutes of labial garbage.
Whatever it is, race for the Senate, self education, porno, or public speaking, she is OUT before her term and by her own decision for personal reasons, which means "Me first, screw the people that elected me ".

CITY FURNITURE OWNERS DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS

I thought the title would prompt people to read this blog right away. I hope so because it is a warning to all of you about buying a mattress.

I purchased the firmest mattress they had at City Furniture in Hiatus Road, Tamarac, Florida. Perhaps not the most expensive one but one of the most, over a thousand dollars. The salesman never told me that the mattress would sink about an inch before the first month of usage. When this happened I called City Furniture and was able to schedule a service visit for someone to come to my house and check the mattress out.

Somebody came, used some type of a laser beam and after 3 minutes of measuring told me that the mattress had indeed sank 1 inch. According to this man and his supervisor, whom I talked to on the phone while he was here, that was perfectly normal and I would have a case only if the mattress would have ceded 2 inches. Matter closed. NOT SO FAST!

I proceeded to write letters to City Furniture, Sealy Mattress and the Better Business Bureau. Only the BBB replied. Their answer, the first time was somehow siding with City Furniture as they insinuated that this furniture company had given them an answer which apparently was satisfactory. It was not. First because they did not copy me and I had no idea what was their reply, and second because at no time City Furniture assumes responsibility. They claim that they follow Sealy Mattress, the manufacturer's standards. It is clear that both City Furniture and Sealy Mattress' standards are way below the customer satisfaction standards.

The second letter from BBB, after my reiteration to them against City Furniture, is a document that I cannot understand. Actually I do understand but it makes no sense whatsoever. This is what they said:

" Thank you for letting us know that you are dissatisfied with the company's response to your complaint. We are therefore, unable to pursue this matter further and are closing our file. Your complaint will remain in our files and will become part of the information we issue to the public about this company".

How about that? Because I am dissatisfied with the company's response (which, by the way, I never had one) they close the file!!!!!

I thought that the BBB was there to find a solution for the customer, and not only to keep complaints available for reading to prospective victims.

I do not pretend to have the BBB continue with my complaint. They probably have no power to influence any company or anyone to adhere to customer service ethics. I can clearly see that their job is to receive complaints, contact the culprit and after a reply from these liars about their products, keep a big file for other people to see or to request. I suppose that is all they do to justify their job. But my complaint is not against them, it is against City Furniture and against Sealy Mattress. Of course, in a less than perfect society, where the main goal is to succeed or survive at any expense, it is to be expected that both these companies cannot be an exception to the rule. They set very low standards and they deliver very low customer service satisfaction.
I am stuck with a mattress,that according to them a 1 inch sinking is a "normal body impression". They do not specify weight of the users. Both my wife and I weigh together 300 lbs. I wonder what excuse will they find if the purchasing couple would weight 450 lbs for instance? Would 1 inch be sufficient or would they have the decency of accepting 2 or 3 inches?

I was a City Furniture client for many years. I will never purchase anything in that store again. I will never buy another Sealy mattress either. Both companies do not give a penny for their customers. They operate on volume, so what is one person like me going to alter their sales?I only hope that after you read this you ask all the questions I asked before buying, but including the one that never crossed my mind, such as:
"HOW MANY INCHES DO YOU ALLOW THIS EXTRA FIRM MATTRESS TO SINK BEFORE I CAN HAVE A LEGITIMATE COMPLAINT?". Keep in mind. Do not fall like me into believing that what you try at the store is what you are going to have a month later after usage.

TESTOSTERONE AND RELIGION WEIGHS ON "AMERICAN IDOL"

Both my wife and I have been watching "American Idol" for years. This one, by far, was the best in every aspect....except...a really big except...THE BIG FINALE VOTE.

We both had a favorite from the moment the contestants were reduced to twenty. It was clear (in our minds) that the last four to compete for the title would be Adam, Allison, Danny, and Chris. Although other competitors had a slight chance to sneak in among the top 10, we always came to the conclusion that Adam, Allison, Danny and Chris were the best.

Our choice proved us right as far as the last four to remain in the contest.

After that we screwed up completely. Well maybe we did not agree with the elimination order. Chris was our choice to be the first one to leave among those final four. He, notwithstanding a very nice voice, had no personality and could be easily forgotten the day after. But Chris, week after week never made the bottom three and kept qualifying till the final duel with Adam.

Oddly enough, or maybe not so surprising, while we thought that Adam was by far the best, because is uniqueness and style complementing an incredible voice, we always felt that there was a reason why Chris was going to be the winner for the following reasons:

1) There were some rumors about Adam's sex orientation because of his

looks, excessive makeup, painted fingernails and stage moves.

2) Adam was the front runner, yet he made the bottom three towards the

last weeks, while Chris was taking a safe seat moving ahead without

any complications. We saw Allison being voted out, then Danny and

our premonition was to be confirmed in the final.

3) Chris always looked like the clean cut American, a churchgoer religious, conservative young man, soft spoken (so was Adam). He was perfect for the majority of the voters, mainly teenage girls with a cellphone, Ipod, IPhone or any of those new inventions that has rendered the new generation practically clones of one another. As clones these teenyboppers must have made at least 50 calls each to repeat their vote for their favorite, the teenage cross between Richie and Fonzie, the perfect combination between naivete, goodness and machismo...Chris.

I, personally believe that the biggest factor for Adam to lose was that America, at any age level, is not ready yet to proclaim a gay person or alleged gay guy "American Idol". First in the mind of the majority of our population an American person must be strong, macho, overdosed in testosterone and at the same time must look like God wanted us to look if we have a man's body. And second because the word "Idol" will never be represented by anyone who shows or projects liberal tendencies. We are still too obtuse and conservative.

And that, in my view is why Adam lost and Chris won. It has nothing to do with singing, but let's remember the show is called "American Idol", not "American Best Young Singer of The Year". Too long a title, anyway.

TEA BAGS IS ALL THEY GOT LEFT

They have no clear ideas and no alternate plans. They are running out of lies and false accusations. They know they are big losers and have no party leaders. They are The Republicans. So their newest invention to pretend they exist is the Tea Bag Parties. And all the idiot Republican followers are now getting busy on the Internet forwarding emails to encourage other idiots to send tea bags to the White House. I suppose when you are practically brain dead and empty of good ideas added to your "in denial" mode, you need to come up with a game to entertain yourself. They thought of sending tea bags to the White House for their moronic entertainment.
My question is this....Why didn't they think of that while Bush was there? After all he was always on a break and he could have used all those tea bags. Well, not alone, but imagine how much more fun it would have been for Georgie having daily social tea with sinister Cheney, manipulative Karl Rove, the dumb blond Press Secretary Dana Perino, the indicted ex Majority Leader Tom Delay, the ex Secretary of State twisted mind Donald Rumsfeld and the rest of the Republican political losers who used an ignorant president for personal gain in their crooked political career.

Are these protesters willing to return the tax break money they will get from the new tax law which reduces their payments to Uncle Sam? Because, correct me if I am wrong, I believe those people standing on the streets holding those stupid signs with tea bags hanging from their empty heads make much less than $200,000 a year and they will all get a stimulus check of $500 each. Are they planning to return it to the White House with their tea bags? How hypocritical can these double standard people be!

Unfortunately, this is what you get in a democracy full of ignorant people.
They are entitled to their opinion. I am surprised that Coke or Pepsi did not think of that idea first. How much more money would have that brought them? "Send a Coke or a Pepsi to the White House!" These advertising agencies and marketing companies have no imagination!
I venture to say they are lead by Republicans. It has to be.

What will be next after the Tea Bag Parties are over and no one has given a hoot about them? I have an idea for these idiots, how about a Hula Hoop demonstration? Then, after most of these people end up in the infirmaries with hip problems, they can petition through the Internet with another bunch of idiotic emails that we all send Hula Hoops to The White House.

Give it up! Wait for your bigger checks, idiots! All you are doing now is hurting your chances to recuperate some of your little gray matter. Little because you never had much, but better than nothing, anyway.

Oh yes, if I get another asinine email asking me to send a Tea Bag to The White House, I will send to the emailer house (there are ways to find out where you live) a Chamomile Tea Bag, with a copy of this blog, in case his/her diminutive flat brain did not have a chance to read it. Chamomile tends to sooth anxiety and you need to chill and concentrate on your paychecks, not on those of the people who make more than $250,000

A CORNERED PARTY

This is not going to be a blog full of details and statistics. First because I have a headache, and second because there is no need to substantiate it with numbers and quotes. It is a blog to express my feelings towards today's Republican party. With the loss of the presidential elections as the last straw to their already weakened morale, the republican party has lost every attempt to a resurgence, it has failed miserably. They have no strong voice to represent them, no leaders to take the helm, no ideas, no logical opinions on any issue. It's the party of NO in every aspect.

Their only and already worn out position on any issue is the one about criticizing Obama and creating controversy on anything that our President does and/or talks about. it is the position of the loser, of the one who has nothing original to say or do, the NO position.

To add to their lame brain negative attitude there is this idiot governor of Texas, Rick Perry, who is backing a resolution by representative Brandon Creighton of the same southern radical state, by which they claim that the State of Texas has sovereignty under the 10th Amendment of the Constitution. According to them they would rather have another Secession War than giving President Obama the fair and appropriate time to see him succeed in tackling on the mess that the "dynamic duo" (Bush/Cheney) left him in eight disastrous years of incompetence and capitalistic dictatorship.

What else are we to expect? Sarah Palin on a self-campaign tour to promote her "bridge to no where" candidacy for 2012? Rush Limbaugh to continue his clowning through the radio? Indicted former Majority Leader Tom Delay, pretending he did not understand Chris Matthews question about the stupid comments by Rick Perry and getting off his tangents to show us once more how much in denial he and all his republican southerners colleagues are? Or perhaps, that black guy, elected to be the Republican National Committee boss, Michael Steele, who was chosen by his fellow republicans as a way to say "we too can have a black leader". So infantile because Obama is the leader of them too, as their denial takes them to extremes of comatose state of the brain. Mind you, when I say "black" it is not with any intention to bring out the race issue, as I believe Obama is the only one who can straighten out this mess and I voted for him. I only mention "black" to make a point about the ridiculous reasoning of the Republican party, or whatever is left of it.

It has been hardly three months since Obama took over this chaos and so far all the Republican party has contributed with is the word NO and the action NO. They are in deep trouble as the country shows support for Obama, while they keep shrinking in image, members, ideas, and brain size. They are not to be disregarded though, especially because, like an injured wild animal, they will charge till their last breath of air leaves their lungs. The Republican party has been pushed to a corner in the ring and not even Muhammad Ali's old "rope-a-dope" can save them. They are finished. This is why only the extreme radical southern States keep bluffing with threats of secession and independence from the Federal Government. The Republican party has been reduced to that, to a Regional Party made of Texas, Louisiana, and the likes. Their strongest voices being Texas Governor Rick Perry, a mediocre politician with no future in his party; and Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, who rejected help from the Federals when his State is in shambles and still suffering the continuous economical,physical, and emotional aftermath of hurricane Katrina.
Unfortunately for this pitiful Republican party, the damage they are suffering was caused by them. They can no defend from it, as they are both the attacker and the enemy. They keep throwing rocks at their own roof, and those of them who are inside the damaged house contemplating their own destruction eventually run out for cover, although they don't know where to go. They are dispersing in all directions like a cattle without direction.

I do have a soft spot in my heart for them, because after all they are Americans like the Democrats and would like to see them regroup and to integrate in what should be a common cause to bring back this country to the 21st century, where we were before Bush. Therefore, dear Republicans, please reconsider for your own good and survival...become Democrats! Your party, as we used to know it , is finished. Caput. Muerto. Zonked out.

Attention all those who think that making some additional income by trying to sell something the legal way is the way to go. Not so if you fall for the trap that the State of Delaware tends you with the help of unscrupulous Internet companies, such as BizFilings.

Here are the details in a letter I decided to mail to Vice President Biden, for whom I have great admiration and faith:

First of all I want to express to you my warmest wishes in your new position and my support to both the President and yourself for a successful recovery of our country. I have faith you will do it.

This letter has another purpose and I hope you get to read it in your busy schedule. It should not be taken as a personal request for myself, but rather as a deterrent to other rip-off perpetrated by the State of Delaware towards American citizens, like me, who try to make some additional income and trust Internet companies who pretend to represent the “victim” but don’t tell you the whole story about incorporating as a Limited Liability Corporation.

By reading the two attached letters you will realize how this crooked and complicated law instituted by the State of Delaware gets additional money from innocent people like me. Bottom line, I ended up paying a total of $700 to cancel and close my corporation for 9 months of operating as DAGONAZ CREATIONS LLC, in which period my sales were ZERO, and I was charged $250 for each year of operation, 2 according to them, although I was in existence only 9 months.
That amounts to $500. The additional $200 (for a total of $700) were fees for CANCELLATION and REVIVAL. In other words I cancelled, but for some trickery
In the Delaware State books I needed to revive my company in order to cancel it!

I feel this is a complete rip-off and I am asking you to have someone look into it. Not just for me, but for the many other people which are also being ripped off and will be taken advantage by the unscrupulous and unethical procedures by the State of Delaware.

I am sure that when you were a Senator for that state this could not have happened.

SEALY POST "STUPIDIC"

I purposely changed the mattress name to make a point about this ripoff. Another of the thousands of lies about any product advertised by a big company.

Two months ago, tired of sleeping on a "Tempu-Pedic" queen size mattress purchased in 2001, which did not offer what it promised to do, that is, firmness and a good night rest, I went to City Furniture with my wife and we tried different Sealy, Serta and Simmons mattresses, king size this time. We decided for the Sealy "Firm 1". the hardest one on the store, after we tried it 3 times at least by laying down and moving and rolling for a while to verify its firmness. That mattress did not budge at all, even pushing it down with my two fists! That was the one we wanted, especially after the normal sales pitch by the salesman, who even convinced us to buy some type of additional guarantee, which covered at-home servicing in case of any defects for the first year of usage.

Well....exactly 1 month and 3 weeks after purchasing it we noticed that the "Firm 1" $1,200 Sealy Postupedic mattress had sunk about an inch on both sides, and that no matter where I would press down with my closed fists it would also give in quite a bit. So we called City Furniture and scheduled an appointment for someone to come and verify our claim. Their representative came in today, as scheduled. Very nice, polite Hispanic person, who explained to us he was not a decision maker but rather a person whose job was to measure the amount that the mattress had given in. He placed some type of device right across the mattress, in the middle, and with a laser beam he showed us that it was 1 inch on the right side and 1/2 inch on the left. That was how much it lost in firmness. Then he proceeded to make me sign a document whereby I confirmed that reading by the laser beam gadget. After that, always very polite and kind of understanding the reality of this issue, he told me he was calling his customer service superior to advice them of the outcome of his visit. He also told me that according to City Furniture, your mattress has to sink at least 2 inches on both sides in order to have a legitimate claim, otherwise you are out of luck ( he did not put it that way, but that is bottom line of the situation).
After he reported to his office he handed me the phone upon my request , to talk to that person he was reporting to. It was a woman, not that the gender has something to do with it, but in this case very appropriate for the adjective she deserves...a bitch. I couldn't use that description for a man, although in that case he would have been a son of a bitch. Makes no difference. These so called "Customer Service" people nowadays have nothing to do with customer service, they are, in reality, "Corporate Defenders". They do not care at all about customers. They are put there to protect the interest of their companies. This cold bitch, and I say that because I mentioned to her I was a City Furniture client for at least 10 years and did not even thanked me for that, and blamed Sealy Postupedic for the 2-inch requirement and washed her hands and those of her company, City Furniture, perhaps the largest furniture store in Florida, located in Tamarac on Hiatus Road. A very appropriate street name in this case, for if you check this word on the dictionary it will tell you that it means, among other things, "a defect in a manuscript,where some part is lost or deface". In my case a defect in the mattress, where some part has sunk or given in".
This "customer service" person told me I had another 6 months from this visit to call again if I thought the mattress had gone down a total of 2 inches, at which time, if that was the case I would probably be given some consideration. I can bet right now that Sealy Postupedic knows very well that the mattress, after thousands of tests they go through before it is merchandised, will never give in 2 inches. But here is my question: Who determines how much does a mattress has to sink when you have two cervical herniated discs and two lumbar even more herniated discs that require a total firm mattress which does not give in anything at all and which should be as firm as the way it was when you laid down on it at the store to try it? Why do they ask us to try these mattresses at the store when they very well know that "What you try is not what you own after a short period of time at home"? Who makes these rules? Well, I am sure these rules are an integral most important part of the rip-off strategy written by corporate lawyers working for these companies. We, as consumers, have no rights, although they pretend to tell us that we do, with these pro-corporation rules. Like everything else, the hypocrisy and abuse by Corporate America is condoned by law and the consumer is the idiot that feeds their bank accounts.

Of course, I do have other options, such as a letter I will send to the president of City Furniture telling him how I feel about their policy and their "rip-off" extended additional guarantee. I will copy Sealy Postupedic and my Congressman indicating to him that it is about time we regulate this industry by eliminating these "extended guarantees", as they are nothing but a way for City Furniture and the likes to collect additional money from the consumer. Also to include some laws that protect us from unilateral company policies, which are written exclusively for their benefit. Do I expect fair changes to happen as they should ? Not really. We live in a world of deceit and greed. Perhaps, the best way to fight "Corporate America" is to owe nothing and live the most simple way we can, no credit cards, no fancy mattresses, no big cars, not even a big house, the minimum amount of clothes, generic food, no-name items, and necessary shopping at Dollar Stores for basic products. Maybe like that, we could force these thieves protected by convenient laws to start thinking a little different about us, the consumer.

Thus, bottom line, beware of SEALY POSTUPEDIC "Firm" mattresses! They are not what they let you try at the store! They do give in at least 1 inch and most likely never up to 2 inches, and their additional guarantee for one year in-house service is a total waste and a way for City Furniture and other big companies alike to get extra money from you.

Ah, as far as the Better Business Bureau...who are they? Do they really help you? I tried them once many years ago for another rip-off situation and their ineffectiveness was pathetic. We, the consumer, are alone fighting everyone else. It reminds me of Gary Cooper in "High Noon", but we much less luck.

I received an email which was forwarded to me by my son in total digust as everything generated by right wing TV station FIX NEWS (a.k.a Fox News) produces. Because it is another sore losers commentary/invention I decided not to waste my time and space in reproducing it. Here, however is my answer to them:
"What do you expect from the GOP? They are all a bunch of traitors anti-Americans, morons and delusional ass holes. It took almost 8 years for them to destroy this country and they still deny it, but it only takes 60 days for them to criticize and boycott the new President of the USA, because he is simply...a DEMOCRAT.

I have the best solution to fix the mess inherited by Obama from Bush/Cheney/Rove : AMERICANS, THE SOLUTION TO OUR PROBLEMS IS SO CLEAR! ELIMINATE THE REPUBLICAN PARTY! HELP DISSOLVE IT! THEY ARE ANTIQUATED, BRAINLESS AND HAZARDOUS TO OUR HEALTH! "

I am flabbergasted at your decision of publishing such a poorly conceived opinion, based on a clear partisan ideology by one of your readers. I do read, once in a while your publication, but I must confess I am not a fan of The Miami Herald because in my opinion it tends to follow one party, the republican one.

That out of the way, here is my answer to Mr. Milanes who, perhaps, considers himself a modern Nostradamus? His predictions have no base, except on that of a solid pitiful background created by fear. Because of fear, Cuba is the way it is today. Fleeing a country because we were afraid of his leader was not the answer. You stay and fight for your country’s freedom and for your rights. You don’t escape in massive numbers to another country to incorporate that fear in your everyday thinking in another country. Unfortunately, many of these “experts” see Fidel Castro in every situation that means change. To them change is bad, because the change that occurred in Cuba was ultimately awful and they did nothing to prevent it, or because they had no help from the outside, and when they did get an attempt of help (Bay of Pigs), it was a complete screw up by the C.I.A, although most republicans blame John F. Kennedy for that. The fact is that we already got a change, for the worse, because prior to Bush’s era, the USA was a real democracy. We, the people, lost for almost eight years that freedom that characterizes our country. The Patriot Act, most probably according to this guy, was necessary to avoid another 9/11. He surely approves of it although it is exactly the same thing he is afraid of…Socialism. We can’t apply freedom to our convenience. To Mr. Milanes freedom was escaping from Fidel. That was somehow understandable. Today freedom, according to Mr. Milanes, is anything conceived and supported by his republican party. Never mind spying on people’s phone lines and sending to Guantanamo possible suspects, without a trial and due process. Exactly like Fidel Castro’s dictatorial regime. The one he escaped from, if he was born there, and the one he is so afraid that we may end up with in the United States.

When he uses the word “utopic” for the future Obama wants to re-establish, he does not realize he is telling us that the way we lived in this country prior to George W. Bush was almost a utopic world. Where unemployment was 4%, where we had a surplus of billions of dollars, and where we lived without fear of someone listening to our conversations and where we had no wars. I am referring, of course to the Clinton era, the same Clinton that, according to the right wing republicans had nothing to do with that surplus, as the foundation was laid out much earlier by a second rated movie star who became president, Ronald Reagan. It is the way it is with right wing republicans. They never lose, and all good in this country is because of them. It is, nonetheless, their right to their opinion and to never admitting being wrong. What can we expect of them when their three big heroes, besides their blindness living in denial about George W. Bush, are comedian Rush Limbaugh, life frustrated viper tongue Ann Coulter, and hillbilly Sarah Palin.

Obviously, Mr. Milanes is upset because his candidate lost the elections. It is hard to accept defeat, but it is even harder when we are in total denial of the facts to the point of declaring that McCain/Palin was the experienced ticket!

As far as “being patient” I can see how patient he has been by giving Obama a chance to prove his plan is the right one. Exactly one month! One month to decide that Obama’s plan is the wrong one, while he still, after eight years of Bush’s presidency, thinks that the opposition hates Bush not because he was one of the worst presidents this country ever had, but because of “hysteria”!

How much money does Mr. Milanes make? Hopefully for him a lot, as he mocks the crisis we are in by writing that word in quotes. Is he afraid that all the loopholes he used to enjoy are going to be done with soon? And the changing of our way of life, as he erroneously points out, is exactly what we suffered during a republican president for the last seven years ( I gave Bush one full year to show what he was capable of accomplishing for this country, not one month as Obama is getting from this guy).

“Our future system will convert to a socialist democracy a la Europe”. What a deep thought! And how dangerous it is to have a system where the middle class runs the country! Similar to what Cuba enjoyed during Batista, where the middle class lived comfortably and happy during a time when that beautiful island was one of the most advanced countries in the world. I suppose Mr. Milanes either did not belong to the middle class then or, since I do not know his age, he was probably born in the USA, and speaks without proper knowledge of the facts.

The capitalistic “values” will never be terminated. First because he used the word “values” for capitalism. There is no value in greed and wanting everything at the expense of everyone else. And second, because capitalism can never die in the USA. It will just have to bear the same responsibilities that everyone else will during our recovery, instead of having a small percentage of people benefiting from all the tax breaks and loopholes given to them by an unfair republican government favoritism.

One of the problems with this gentleman is that he has no faith in the American people because he wrongly sees a reflection of what happened to him and/or other Cuban citizens. Americans are resilient, freedom fighters, fair and willing to sacrifice if need be. Obama, with the help of all of us, will produce in due time the turnaround needed to clean up the mess that the republicans created and dumped on us thanks to a government hands-off policy by George W. Bush and company.

I welcome the fact, as per Mr. Milanes, that workers will do better than entrepreneurs, followers better than leaders. It is about time that the middle class gets compensated with a fair salary and where Unions will fight for the employees once again, to avoid being oppressed and abused by the “ Enron’s” in our corporate world and by the present corrupted Bank system. As a small detail, we, for example, will have as consumers some customer service, which disappeared during the last years, as a way for big corporations to reduce costs by laying off personnel. Happy workers are more consumer oriented than those who are miserable in their jobs, as we have been experiencing for a long time. That includes doctors and their staff.
As a matter of fact when employees in a company do “better” than their leaders, the company profits from excellent production and quality, which in turn leads to more profits. I wrote the word better in quotes because employees will never make more money or have better benefits than their leaders. It has to do with corporate structure in the authority ladder, and that is normal.

And as far as small businesses being hampered by Obama measures, Mr. Milanes is again wrong, purposely of course, as he very well knows that Obama’s intentions are precisely to help the small businesses. This is a fact that he selectively ignores to allow his prophecies game follow the fear tactics of sinister Mr.Cheney. Isn’t that a way to control the people?

The price of gasoline will go up? So what happened during Bush? Did it go down? Where was Mr. Milanes when gas was over $4 a gallon? Maybe In Europe enjoying the good food, the monuments, and free medical and hospital assistance? Those are some of the benefits that those poor Europeans suffer in their “socialistic” ran countries, while they envy our crippled Health Care system, and our ignorance about world geography and world idiosyncrasy to better deal with other countries.

I am so afraid of government controlled education! Imagine… we’ll be able to compete for better jobs! And all our graduated high school students will be able to study a career due to government grants and other financial support! That is so dangerous!

“Defense spending will be reduced”. Reduced to what? To a normal level? Because right now we are spending more on defense that it is necessary. We could call our current defense spending a “Fear Budget”. The defense budget must be based on needs, not on fear. America never feared the enemy, but unfortunately, in the last eight years, that has been our modus operandi. The money for our defense needs to be readjusted and assigned according to where and how terrorism operates, not where we may think there are weapons of mass destructions, without any proof of it. The Iraq invasion/war was another republican catastrophic decision that has affected all Americans, including those who refuse to accept this fact. Of course it did help the Bushes oil interests in Saudi Arabia, and Cheney’s reconstruction companies.

“Our utilities will go up with Obama’s plan”? I guess Mr. Milanes has never lived in the east of the United States, where gas or electric heating is at an average of $300 a month now. Or perhaps he feels that a $300 monthly bill is fair to a single person in a 2 bedroom apartment.

I do also worry about those automobiles being out of reach to anyone’s pocket. Imagine a “socialistic” hybrid Honda Civic for $24,000, while you could get a “capitalistic” Hammer tank to drive through congested local streets for a mere $60,000?

Yeah, let’s not allow either to have the size of our homes reduced, when we all thrive for big mansions with 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, a swimming pool with separate bath room in the yard, and a 3 car garage!

What about the size of our television sets? Would we be able to live with a 12 inch TV set? Or are we so stupid that we would not buy instead a 42 inch for the same price? Here I am totally stunned. Could it be that Mr. Milanes owns a 10- foot TV set in his 5 bedroom mansion?

And, Mr. Milanes, for your information, Wall Street is part of the problem, while Obama’s government is part of the solution. Please do not confuse Magnesium with Gymnasium. They are two totally different things.

Last, but not least, you finally talk clear and to the point when in your last paragraph you state “The big question is, have our population changed so much that most want this liberal agenda. Maybe so, I do hope not”. You hit it right on the nail…LIBERAL. That is what bothers you. Liberals won this election. Republicans lost it. You lost it. Your final statement sounds to me like one of a sore loser, and for the sake of your principles I hope I am wrong on this assumption. However, that is what your letter is all about….LIBERALS!

Contrary to your convenient confused opinion, I hope that president Obama succeeds for the best of America, which will also benefit you. We can’t win them all, Mr. Milanes, can we?

Dear Mr. Limbaugh:

I know I am probably wasting my time expressing my thoughts about your unpatriotic and anti-American way, but who knows, there is a slight chance you might for a couple of minutes remember that you are living in a free country where we are also at liberty to say nice and productive things, and not just stupid radical sore losers statements, such as yours.

Wishing President Obama to fail is wishing our country to sink even further what your ex-president Bush and people like you took us in eight years. I guess, in your case, party first and country second. You would probably do very well in Fidel Castro's regime. Look where he brought Cuba in 50 years!

I know that you are also moved by money and you are always trying to find ways and comments to get the attention that otherwise you cannot get due to your human limitations, so I have a suggestion for you...How about a fight to death, verbal death I mean, with Ann Coulter, in a large cage. You both seat across each other and for about 30 minutes you both unleash against each other and against democrats, with insults, negative comments, bad wishes, lies, extreme slurs, and more of the sort until all the venom from your tongues has been released. This event could bring you lots and lots of money, plus you might satisfy to exhaustion your sore loser thirst. On this one I wish you to win.

There is also a possibility that the reason you make the comments you make is because you are not well. You may have some sort of chemical unbalance, perhaps produced by ingesting so many pain killers, most of them heavy drugs.

An the last possible cause could be attributed to ignorance. You may have a lot of followers who listen to your deplorable radio talk show and who enjoy it because they are people just like you, ignorant. Ignorance is unfortunately abundant in our country. Ignorance blinds many people who, like you, wish Obama to fail, not realizing that such a failure will cause a higher unemployment rate; 43 million people to continue without health care; illnesses such as Cancer, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, Diabetes and others with no hope for a future cure through Stem Cell research, etc. etc.

My best bet is that you are a plain radical extremist right wing republican, sore loser, with plenty of vile comments to spit out, with the added bonus of the dollar sign attached to them.

What you don't realize either is that every time you make an extremist comment, it makes you a bigger sore loser, because the opposite happens, and in this case I, like the majority of Americans, 68% of them, hope that Obama succeeds for the good of our country, and have faith that he will, in spite of radicals like you.

DON'T BLAME IT ON THE UNIONS ONLY

I guess republicans need to persevere on their quest to try to brainwash those who allow themselves to be influenced by Internet emails. They gave it a real big try during the primaries to no avail, with all kind of lies and made up stories about Obama. They failed miserably, but they do not give up on their quest to impose their thinking about anything and everything. To them, their ideals or rather radical thinking must be disseminated and inculcated on every American, so their party wins. It is winning and not country what moves these people. Definitely party over Nation; corporations over middle class; and control over self expression.

Now that the presidential election is over after being defeated by a better prepared Democratic party, with clear ideas and good intentions to change our precipitous course to the cliff where Bush/Cheney were taking us to, they are trying something else.... The "subtle" emails against the UAW. Don't get me wrong, I am not a union worker defender, but neither am I against them. I believe unions are good to protect the right of the employees who work hard and keep our economy afloat. They are not that good if their only intention is to bankrupt the company. And this is not the case of the UAW. Yes, they have a higher payroll than the foreign auto industry in the south, but it is justified for many reasons, which are mainly associated to the cost-production ratio.

I received today an email which was forwarded to me by someone who had it forwarded to him, who got it from another forward, etc. etc. You know how this cancer spreads.... This email blames the UAW solely for the financial crisis of General Motors, Chrysler, and Ford. It talks about the salaries the UAW receive versus the ones paid to the foreign car companies who build in the "Other United States", the South (with a couple of exceptions, thank God). It wants these Big Three to declare bankruptcy under chapter 11 and to get rid of the union contracts. In other words, whoever started the ball rolling wants the UAW to be busted, like president Reagan did with the Control Tower workers. And we all know where the airline industry is now after that "wonderful" personal achievement plus his other one of "Deregulation" that brought Panam down like other many historical airlines in this country.
Yes! Let's all wish for an American car industry to go bankrupt to add three more million people to the unemployment line. Because this "wished" bankruptcy not only includes 180,681 union workers, but also retired members (419,621) and surviving spouses (120,723), and about 2.3 million people related to the car industry (dealerships, parts manufacturing, raw material industries and other).

But these republicans don't care about creating a bigger hole in our economy. As a matter of fact, the more difficult we could make it for Obama, the better chances they might have four years from now. So they think. How naive!

A bankruptcy by these three car makers with the sole purpose to bust the UAW union only shows that for these extremists their only objective is to
strangle even more the middle class in America. It is a shame that their extreme ideals are above their pride for the prosperity of our country. Without a large and comfortable middle class no nation can advance and prosper. Just take a look at our 50s and 60s, even 70s. After that, with the exception of eight of the best economical years we ever had during Bill Clinton, the middle class has been gradually shrinking to what it is today.

How about blaming the big chiefs? The three CEOs combined made more than $110 millions in 2007, not counting stock options and other benefits.
At an average cost of a typical car, this represents a little bit more than 2 cars per 100 built to offset their obscene salaries every year. We are only mentioning the three top honchos. Don't forget the COOs, the Vice presidents and other top executives. And for your information, there were 18 million cars built by GM, Chrysler, and Ford together in 2007. That 2% mentioned before means that it took 360,000 cars to even the salaries paid to those CEOs, or what sounds even more astounding, they needed to build about 1000 cars per day to afford the payroll of these three CEOs !

On the other hand, the cost ratio between labor and average car sale price was in the same year 8.4% Not bad considering that labor in most other industries, manufacturing, services, wholesale and retail business is way higher than that.

Since we all have a message to convey through the Internet, here is mine:
Don't be impressed by emails than sound very patriotic. Most of the times they are not. They are subtle messages to brainwash us in order for these brain suckers to obtain their goal, which is "Party Fist, Country Second". Research the Internet, get all the input you need to understand what they are telling you and why. Get the facts. All of them, not just one side. Analyze and react appropriately, not "sheeply".

I DON'T UNDERSTAND IT

It's been a little bit over a month since I don't write. My impulse got broken right after Obama won the election. I had been practically exhausting myself day after day during the presidential campaign, and let's face it...I get inspired when I have to attack to defend the true and to side with the one who is right. I really had a great momentum going taking apart that stupid hick from Alaska and that washed out senator from Arizona who made the wrong choice when he picked Queen Crab as his running mate. Even though, and in spite of both looking like a vaudeville couple trying to make it in the 21st century, the country gave them over 45% of their votes. That is an incredible high percentage in their favor, which tells me we still have a long way to go to get us also in the 21st century. We still have a very strong division in this country. It looks like the South (most of it) still lives under the influence of Tara and does not accept maturing, and does not accept the facts of the times we live in.

I am back for the delight of my readers (maybe 3?) and why should I change my style when the only way I can express myself is by using sarcasm and sometimes strong personal opinions?

What brought me back? Something that is happening and I cannot understand. It's about the three major auto companies that, like all big companies in the USA were given total and complete freedom to be greedy, irresponsible, and arrogant, just as the eight years of the Bush administration. However, no matter how bad they ran their businesses,
their debacle and possible bankruptcy filing could lead to a worse situation to their workers, families, suppliers, and related industries. It could topple a vast sector of the USA industry with catastrophic consequences. What would our government do when this bleak picture would be the one to face, instead of finding a quick solution now for these three automakers? Maybe our politicians are so blurred by their own ego
and maybe their complicated minds do not allow them to think straight and see forward, but it is clear that they are playing a legal game of words and the solution right in front of their noses escape them.

Yes, we acted irresponsibly when we listened to Henry M. Paulson and Ben Bernanke to give out 700 billion dollars or more, to bail out the glorified pawn shops that went under, in spite of their greed, or perhaps because of it.
AIG, Bear Sterns, Lehman Brothers, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and maybe others which I can't think of right this moment, acted irresponsibly and millions of Americans suffered the consequences for their lack of scruples and total disregard for their clients and borrowers.

So what does our government does? They, without conditions and any kind of assurances of these financial institutions to correct themselves in their new existence, released the sum of 700 billion dollars to keep them afloat. No special finance panel to interrogate them, no questions asked. 700 billion dollars of new made money, or perhaps from the Federal Reserve, which probably has more money than China. I know, I may be exaggerating to make my point.

And this is what I don't understand...Why are we making it so difficult for these three auto companies to get only 5% of what the financial institutions thieves got with no strings attached?

No matter how many possible reasons I try to find to answer my own question, I can't find any logical one. Before I give you my own illogical explanation of our government attitude on this case, I would like to give a brief background of what these companies mean to America and our economy.

General Motors. Was founded in 1908, a hundred years ago! In 1942, during WWII, GM gave its entire production, 100% to the American troops and its allies. They provided over 12 billion dollars in materials, which included airplanes, tanks and other equipment, all for FREE!
That was in 1942, which translated into 2008 it could be the equivalent of 40 billions? Maybe more? Granted that GM screwed up big, and when I say BIG I mean, like building Hummers with 15 mpg consumption and any of the Savana series, good for a family of 12 but used for single moms taking their only child to kindergarten, devouring gas like a dinosaur feeding on other creatures or on gigantic prehistoric flora; or on Chevy Corvettes with an engine big enough to compete with a 747 on any airport runway, for highways that allow a maximum speed of 70 miles per hour only.
In 2007, GM ranked number 3 in the Fortune 500 list, but rankings mean nothing nowadays in the business world when you lose money. They lost in 2007 over 2 billion dollars. They are probably going to show a 2008 loss of 4 billions, and they are now asking for $18B, and not as a handout but as a loan. With 266,000 employees (maybe less by the time I finish this blog) and their families at the risk of joining the unemployment line to cause an even bigger problem to our government,
it would be a no-brainer to lend them those 18 billions...with conditions, of course, such as...no more Hummers, unless they want to open an assembly shop in the Sahara desert and its paid by the Saudis...no more Savana mastodonts; 50% reduction in the production of SUVs, and by the way imposing a luxury tax to be used by states education funding purposes, for owning these gas guzzlers; and above all with the imperative requirement to switch their operation to alternate energy cars, such as nitrogen, or fuel cell vehicles, or any other invention which will allow us not to be dependant on other countries' oil.
But if we were to disregard all of the above, should the government consider this bailout of $18 billions like a payback for 1942 GM $12 billions contribution to win a war? The answer is YES. It may not sound logical, stripped down of all the conditions that should be attached as mentioned before, but it is the only one and more decent I can think of, plus it keeps millions of people working. That in itself is more than conclusive.

Chrysler. Founded in 1925. has now 129,000 employees under the ownership of Cerberus Capital Management, thus no longer a public company, but private. If I had to choose among the three, I would say let Chrysler go under. Let them file for bankruptcy. Why should Cerberus be different than any other private company? However, my concern is that
we are looking again at the bigger problem, the unemployment one and the suffering of innocent families to no fault of their own. Chrysler is asking for $9B, a drop in the bucket compare to what we freely gave to the financial institutions thieves. Chrysler also asked for a loan in 1979 when Lee Iacocca, and they paid it back. It was however a public company, not a private one, and that is where the thin line comes to play.
I really, honestly don't have an answer. It could go either way, but the fact that it is a loan and it might save many workers jobs...you know where I may be leaning to. Now if they get the money they should be totally under legal scrutiny of the ones who will loan it to them, the US government. No big cars, new energy saving automobiles, salary caps for top executives and any bonuses for CEO and the like to be used to repay the loan faster. Once they have paid back then they are on their own with the knowledge that next time they screw up they are out for good.

Ford. This company should be to the USA like the TajMahal is for India, or the Segovia Roman Aqueduct in Spain. It is history. it was founded in 1903. it was the first car company in the USA and fifth oldest in the world after Peugeot in France (1882), Renault (France 1899), Fiat (Italy 1899).
and the now defunct Daimler of England, founded in 1896 and gone in 1960. Ford Motor Company is an American relic and we should not allow it to disappear like we did with Pan American World Airways, under another Bush in 1991. It seems to me that the Bushes don't care much about real history and traditions, no matter how religious they think they are.
Ford is only asking for $7 billions to save their asses (sorry, I was trying to be clean as a whistle on this blog, but it makes my point) and to protect their 129,000 employees and families. It is an insignificant amount considering that we already screwed up when Panam, the best and most recognizable American product in the world airline industry, or perhaps outside the industry too, was abandoned and allowed to die under the republicans regime, while Panam airplanes had helped "Bush41" conduct his war in the Gulf in 1990/1991 by providing airplanes, war material transportation, supplies at their own expense and sacrificing their business for the country. Apparently the Bushes don't care much about this type of patriotism and their retribution is to abandon their friends and collaborators, at the expense of the American people.
All this said, and taking into consideration that a loan must have strings attached, Ford should be given the same type of conditions than the other two culprits and the bailout is a must, without any hesitation.

I purposely wanted to leave for the end of this article something that bothers me and most Americans, which is the salary that these auto makers CEOs and Chairmen and other top executives make. It is obscene and if any loans are to be given to these greedy bastards (here I go again)
it should require that their salaries be capped to a more reasonable and comparable level with other top business leaders. These are new times, new economy (or lack of it for now), and new government. Please, democrats don't let the few extreme right wing republicans convince you that giving these loans will create a worse economical crisis. They have their own agenda for 2012 and nothing would make them happier than leaving Obama with the heavy burden of having sunk Ford and the car industry, which is also a pillar for the USA in other industries, and in generating millions of jobs. A real heavy recession might be impossible to recover in four years and they will blame the democrats and Obama for not being successful in delivering the promises of renovation and health care as a right, affordable education, stem cell research and development, and millions of jobs creations with new and existing infrastructure. I may be a little paranoid, but why are these republicans (the majority of them) against this rescue plan or bailout, or whatever we want to call it? I honestly do not understand it, unless my paranoid mind is unfortunately right.

T'WAS THE NIGHT OF ELECTION

When, what to my joy Brian Williams is to appear
And firmly predicts a win in Virginia is finally near,
With Obama as the winner and McCain in the gutter,
I knew in a moment the fate of that phony Joe the Plumber.

More rapid than eagles, State after State, results duly came,
And though not yet over, how depressing for senile McCain;
And he from his quarters still shouting and whining:
"He's a Socialist! a Communist!, a Marxist! I am not canning!
He's raising your taxes! He wants to distribute your wealth!
I know, they all voted for him because it relates to my health!"

So, by midnight , "my friends" McWhine was just finished,
but that was not all, as the entire republican party clearly diminished.

THE FINAL NAIL ON THE COFFIN

Tonight, in a brilliant way, Barack Hussein Obama, hammered the last nail on McCain's political coffin. Obama's 30 minute special on 7 major TV networks delivered the final punch to his obsolete, ridiculous, vicious, envious, weak rival. He did it without having to defend any of the vicious attacks that McCain launched on him for many weeks. He didn't have to because they were so outrageous that not even republicans would pay any attention to them. There are six more days to go before we elect Barack Hussein Obama as the 44th President of this great country of ours. It's not going to happen without cheating and without the use of old and new tricks by the right wing fanatic republicans. They have already started sending fliers to voters, pretending to be official government messages, such as "If you have not paid your traffic violation tickets you cannot vote", or " If you have foreclosed on your house or declared bankruptcy you are not allowed to cast your vote", or.. get this..."Republicans must vote on the 4th of November, and Democrats on the 5h ". It's so pathetic that I broke into a dangerous laugh. Dangerous because I am asthmatic and laughing out loud makes me choke! But it is so rewarding to laugh at these pathetic losers that it was worth suffering shortness of breath for a few seconds.

Barack Hussein Obama made personal contact with those who took the time to watch him talk and explain his feelings regarding the problems the middle class were being inflicted by 8 years of the worst management this country has ever experienced in modern times. He dealt with personal situations, his and of many Americans and he did it without having to recur to lies and preposterous accusations. He just stated the facts in a simple and human way. That is the President our nation will have for the next four years, while McCain will dedicate his time to visit his 8 homes, which apparently he was not aware they existed, and Sarah Palin will be ripping him (McCain) apart, as this ambitious, cold Alaska Governor (cold as in a snake, not as in Alaska) prepares for 2012, if the republican party loses completely its marbles after this election total defeat. I picked these two activities for the "vaudeville duo" inasmuch as I do not think they can golf, which is what everyone does when they lose or go on vacation. It will certainly be a sad, depressing, pathetic vacation forMcLoser and Sarah Pain-in-the-ass.

My gut feeling is that McCain will suffer from post-partum syndrome, actually more like post abortion, since his campaign approach was more like an abortion than a ""partum", and that Queen Crab will go back to her roots, to Utah, where she was born, and become a Kindergarten teacher. instilling in five year old children her own version of pro-life and "nukular" plants.

I might be wrong on this one, so let me pick a second possibility...A plumber? Sarah the Plumber? I am delirious right now, I admit it. It's past midnight and my osteoarthritis is kicking in really hard, making me talk like a right wing republican. What a drag!

But before I finish this post, I want to point the finger at another right wing fascist. Tom DeLay. After 2 years as the republican Majority Leader in the Senate, he got indicted in 2005, unfortunately not convicted, due to technicalities, for money laundering. Tom DeLay was asked by Chris Matthews in an interview just before Obama delivered his infomercial, if he thought that Obama was a socialist. DeLay, who should be ashamed of showing himself publicly, accused Obama of being a socialist, and he added that Obama was a dangerous leftist harbouring Marxist ideals for this country. It is amazing how the disbanded republicans throw their tantrums!

In closing, you might have noticed that every time I mention Obama's full name I do not omit the HUSSEIN part. There is a very simple explanation to that, HUSSEIN sounds Muslim, and although he is not a Muslim, I know it bothers the hell out of the right wing republicans and nothing gives me more pleasure than to rub it in.

So, good night Sarah and Johny. Your Last Standing Comic act is coming to a close so you already know what your political destiny is, but in the meantime you still have six more days to suffer, while lying, which is the only thing you're good for. The only thing I really dislike about your sad finale is the fact that I am not going to see your sour puss faces, when you have to swallow your pride and make that fated call to congratulate BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA for his victory.
And...by the way, McDrain,Remember this morning in one of your pre-arranged showings? when you said: "Joe is with us today!" "Joe, where are you?", "Where is Joe?" "Joe, I thought you were here today!". For your information, Joe was there all the time. Joe the Plumber was...UP YOUR ASS, plunger included! Yes, I admit it, this is gross, but so is your campaign and your gestures, and when you do that quote unquote grotesque sign with your fingers, or when you go two pointy ugly thumbs up, half way with your arms, or when you make any kind of false statement. All of that is so insulting that I felt compelled to over indulge in my giving away of where that disgusting opportunistic phony plumber was hiding.

I thought the GOP (Grand Obsolete Party) presidential campaign was going to be a drag for the last 13 days before election time, with the boring and repetitive false accusations by the republican vaudeville duo.

And out of the "brown" comes Philip J. Berg, a mediocre lawyer, who should be barred from practicing law for his crackpot allegations and off the wall law suits, which in the long run makes the legal system look like a bigger joke than what it really is. Philip Berg is a former Deputy Attorney General in the State of Pennsylvania, searching for fame and notoriety, but the poor guy is being ignored by the media and even his own circle.

This Liberal (Yes, Liberal!. Not a Republican!) washed out lawyer has issued a press release sent to all major National TV Stations and Newspapers announcing that he has filed a suit in Federal Court in Philadelphia against Senator Obama, questioning his constitutional eligibility of his candidacy for president. Bottom line, among a bunch of false accusations, he says that Obama was born in Kenya. Therefore, he is not eligible under the Constitution, to be President of the United States.

So, there you have it. We also have deranged people among Liberals. There are probably a bunch of them, but my mission here is to tackle those with political inclinations, such as Philip J. Berg. This guy wants, in his own words, to "Restore the Republic". How about restoring his own career?

If you still have any doubts,

there is an authenticated birth certificate issued in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii, that shows that Obama was indeed born in the United States on August 4, 1961 at 7:24 PM.

But wait!, This is the same Philip J. Berg who also filed suit against our lame duck President " John Wayne" Bush, and his VP " Darth Vader" Cheney for a 9/11 conspiracy! I admit I am not fan of these two incompetent politicians with a 72% disapproval rating by Americans, but I do not doubt, regardless of their private agenda to protect their oil interests in association with Saudi Arabia, that they had nothing to do with 9/11. I find the accusation totally absurd and out of line. Not only has he filed suit but he has issued a call to world leaders to arrest and try Bush and Cheney for the global crimes of 9/11/01! This man has lost his marbles and he is still practising law. Wait a minute, that might not be so rare!

My suggestion to him is to change party affiliation and to register as an Independent first, like Lieberman, better known as "Joe the Chameleon". Then, after he starts brow nosing the Republican party and being ignored by them (like Lieberman), fully convert into a Republican (like Lieberman will) to try to be accepted, and finally, realizing that all these changes have not altered his status as a totally insignificant person, retire from the political opinionated world he lives in, and end his legal career with some decency.

It will not be easy to correct himself, as among the many steps he has to take to achieve that, first he has to land back on planet Earth. Yes, Mr. Berg your demented trip has taken you so far away, with so many fabrications, that by now you must have reached Uranus, and it must be very hard to think clearly that far from your brain. Once you are back here, where we try to make a living, in spite of lawyers like you, my advice is...try to be like many other lawyers in your category, for instance, try to be an ambulance chaser. Do not, under any circumstance, join the group of real lawyers who still honor their profession, because no matter how you regenerate yourself, you will never fit. Your malicious stories about 9/11 and against Obama's birth place has marked you for life, and all you'll be able to do as a lawyer will be small things, very small things, the

size of your brain.

Look, you could also become a children's book writer with your vivid imagination. Everyone nowadays is doing that. With everything that is going on lately, provided by the cartoon duo of McCain and Palin, here are some title suggestions for your fantasy stories:

"Joe the Plumber". About a Republican liar who was never a plumber.
"Tito the Builder". About a Hispanic Republican liar who never built anything.
"Rudy the Mayor". About this horse-mouth elected public servant better known as "St. Rudy of 9/11".

"Sarah the Governor". About a greedy ignorant woman who would use any unscrupulous tactics to get what she wanted, but failed.
"John the Loser". About a guy who could never win at anything.
"Phil the Paranoid". About this lawyer who would invent wild stories.
"Dagonaz the Blogger". About this writer who would be on everyone's hit list.
As you can see there are literally options and you, having such a vivid imagination, could survive applying all these Republican fantastic lies into children's reading material, instead of using them to insult our intelligence with ridiculous accusations and outrageous legal suits.

I'VE HAD IT!

This post is not going to be pretty. I am not going to watch my words, maybe just a little bit. This is about expressing my total repulsion for what's going on during this presidential campaigns. We have, basically, two major parties, the Democratic one, and the Republican one. The Democratic is talking about issues and problems we've been faced with during eight of the worst years I ever recall. The Republican is not really talking. It's foaming at the mouth, like animals with rabies. They can't address one single issue, because they have no solutions. Not one idea to change anything. It's a derailed, fragmented party with a mentality of sore losers, and as such the only narrow agenda they have is to slander the opponent with fabricated lies and trying to instill fear in the people. It is the tactic used by fascist dictators or communist regimes, where people's opinion don't count and where ideologies, good or bad don't exist. Only theirs.

The Republican ticket is a row boat with cracks trying to navigate through a gale in the middle of the Atlantic. Neither nasal McCain nor low class Palin are at the helm of that sinking boat, because they are not capable to gear that tiller. The real problem with these two yo-yos is that they look like two yo-yos, both physically and ideologically. Maybe Palin looks a dash better because she is a woman and wears lipstick, high heels and fashion eyeglasses, but you dress a pit bull in sexy clothes and she is still a pit bull with fangs. As far as McBoring there isn't anymore I can say about him, except to come up with different nicknames every time I want to describe him. In my previous posts I have called him:

McNasal, McStupid, McSenile, McPhony, McLie, McPain, McSneaky, McAngry, McDoorman, McWar, McCrabby, McGrumpy, McCane. Believe me there will be more before theses elections are over!
Equal time for Sarah Palin's nicknames: Barracuda, Pit Bull, Sarah 6-pack, Caribou Burger Palin, and Queen Crab. If you wonder why I sound so mean and disrespectful, wonder no more... Because they had it coming. They have been insulting Obama and Biden and all of us, semi- average citizens, with their accusations, lies, perverse insinuations, character assassination statements, and no one, not one single democrat has had the balls to get back at them with a taste of their own medicine. We Democrats are too soft when it comes to hitting back. I have nothing to lose, I am not running for anything, I am a law abiding citizen with nothing to fear, except for the election of the wrong people to sink our country even further down economically and anaemically. And believe me, I do fear only that because, these right wing fascists, who call themselves Mavericks are now trying to scare us about socialism, while they pretend to ignore that both Social Security and Medicare are "socialistic" necessary evils for retired people to survive. I very well know that these extreme radicals have only one agenda that has nothing to do with socialism or terrorism, or patriotism. It has do with their agenda, and nothing else. So, I choose to be disrespectful and call them anything I feel like. It gives me a sense of accomplishment and patriotism. The good one.
OK, now let's drill some other republicans who are on my shit list:

1.- Comedian Rush Linbaugh. He is a real asshole in total denial who believes that his radio show is going to last forever. Today, he insulted retired General Colin Powell for endorsing Obama. General Powell is the most respected Republican, who is also disappointed with his party leaning so dangerously to the right. Collin Powell, who was Secretary of State under George W. Bush, gave a long, concise and clear exposition of why he was supporting Obama. He was even asked by Tom Brokaw if he was concerned that some might view his endorsement as a racist one, to which he replied if that was the case he would not have waited that long to do it. This ass hole Linbaugh shouted through his mike " It was totally about race! ". After he gets the boot for running out of comic lines, for unveiling through more racial statements like today's that he is an ex KKK member, never unmasked before, and for not fitting in any chair anymore because of his fat greasy belly, he will probably work for a couple of years as a bouncer at a local circus. I understand there are no circuses bouncers, but I am sure that both McClown and Barking Dog Palin could create that job for him when they join fortunes to have their own circus after they are defeated, to pay homage to comedian Rush Big Mouth Linbaugh's illustrious career. They could make an incredible trio!

2.- Congress woman from Minnesota, Michele Bachmann. This
ignorant specimen showed her total lack of gray matter the other day when interviewed by Chris Matthews, attacking Obama and other members of Congress, with allegations that many members of Congress might be "Un-American" and suggesting an investigation "a-la-1950s- McCarthy". As she was making these moronic accusations, her right wing republican smirk, a.k.a facial trademark, was locked in from side to side of her mouth. She looked like a Sesame Street puppet gone wrong. How did this person get to Congress? Can we impeach Congress representatives who do not represent anyone of us, or can we fire them and give them a job as pick-up car dealer sales persons, for instance?
Better yet...Let's give her an I.Q. test. If she does not make it past 85 the Republican party can pick her as her candidate for the 2012 presidential elections. OK. I think I feel really good about my verbal explosion now, so that will be it for now. However, here is my disclaimer: I have the right to add, increase intensity and even discredit all these incompetent right wing republicans with lies of my own, if the need arises. Tooth for tooth, eye for eye. And just in case, in order to be a good citizen...GOD BLESS AMERICA. (Getting up from my chair and mumbling the Pledge of Allegiance).

THE LYING-CHEATING MACHINE

We all know that the 2004 Election was rigged by means of Republican cheating, threatening tactics, lies, intimidation and whatever they could think of.
Without going into the basic cheating and lying being practiced on a daily basis by that decrepit party, I would like to comment on some of the undesirable things we have heard and seen so far from the republican right wing characters.

At their campaign rallies: "Kill Him" "Traitor" "Terrorist". Also, that little old lady making a naive confession to McCain, such as "I'm really afraid! He is...an Arab".
How about Pitbull Palin with her squeaky voice trying to make her stupid no-personality fans believe that Obama has ties with terrorists and that he is a dangerous person. To all that McCain is in total denial, which is a trademark of his party. LYING!

And what about "Joe six-pack" and "Joe the plumber"? I, personally, feel insulted being considered as one of them in the middle class. Not that I have anything against beer or plumbers, but they do not represent me. They could have picked a beer drinker or a plumber, not two similar characters to represent the middle class. Maybe a plumber and a high school teacher? That would have covered with more amplitude the middle class.

What has that got to do with cheating? you may say. Well, let's see...
I strongly believe that the guys who shouted "Kill him" "Traitor" "Terrorist" were implants by the McCrumpy campaign, to incite the masses with the purpose of getting their vote. And as far as the little old lady...why didn't the cameras showed her face? Has anyone thought about that? Nice try by McPhony to pretend he's an honest man with his reply " No. He's a decent man, blah, blah." referring to Obama to appease that "anonymous" old lady. CHEATING.

Regarding "Joe the Plumber"...How come the McSneaky campaign went after him to make him so important after he had approach Obama with a question? That was a setup that has backfired. The guy is no plumber, has no plumbing license, never had any intentions of buying the plumbing company he NEVER WORKED FOR, owes money to Uncle Sam, and makes less than $50,000 a year, which makes him eligible to a tax cut under Obama's plan. He was definitely another Republican implant. CHEATING.

This is a new one: Recorded phone calls ("Robo-Calls") to undecided voters, scaring them with a terrifying message against Obama. The message is full of despicable lies. This is happening two weeks before the elections. It's the last card these cheaters-liars are playing out of desperation. It shows how low the republican party wants to go in order not to lose, because they are the worst sore losers of any kind. The "Country First" lemma is their hypocritical base where to hide while trying to meet their own personal selfish, greedy, anti-patriotic ignorant agenda.

This one is perhaps the most atrocious thing I've heard today. Chris Matthews of MSNBC was interviewing this fascist republican Congress woman from Minnesota, whose name I am not going to dignify in my blog. She was so radically right wing extremist that she scared me. She scared me because she talked like a deranged dictator with menacing statements, such as alleging that there are many democrat members on the Congress who are anti-American! Is she a far relative of Senator Joseph Raymond McCarthy, who in the 50s thought everyone was a communist and tried to deprive citizens of their freedom of speech?
This disturbed republican congress woman was accusing Obama of being a Communist! And she wants the media to start an investigation! Who elects these dangerous nuts who are terribly uninformed, or in my vocabulary...IGNORANT!

And last, but not least...our infamous famous Sarah Barracuda Palin, Queen Crab for her newly made enemies. She cynically lied on her statement claiming she was so pleased to see that she had not been found
guilty of any doing, legally and morally on the state trooper case, her ex brother-in-law, who had the misfortune of marrying anyone related to Queen Crab. As we all know, she was found guilty of unethical procedures by forcing her position into the firing of that man. CHEATING.
Additionally, she has the nerve to ask transparency from Obama, when she is as opaque as the brain of a right wing republican, of which she is an integral part.

The republican lying-cheating machine is running out of gas. Even if they had started off-shore drilling ten years ago, they would not have enough gas to get a boost in the polls. They are out of new lies. They are repetitive, boring and sub-par in quality and delivery. They look like a defeated team that out of frustration their only recourse is to kick the opponent. I believe it is time for a complete restructuring of the Old Party because right now that "Grand" middle word has been pitifully replaced by the word GUTLESS. That's what they are, the OLD GUTLESS PARTY.

THE LAST DEBATE

" I am not George Bush". Why is the media cashing in on that stupid quote by McAngry? I think it was a statement rehearsed and memorized by McCain upon advice by his also erratic campaign, and as such it had no merit. Especially because we all know he is not George Bush. No one can be George Bush! McCain is just a follower of the Bush doctrine, and the way he looked tonight I would venture to say he definitely was not George Bush. He looked more like a corpse with makeup. His embalmer performed restorative services to make him look more presentable for an open casket service. So let's put that so non important statement " I am not George Bush" where it deserves...in the trunk of insignificant memories of insignificant people.

During this final debate, Donald Duck McCain tried by all means to irritate Obama with his direct insults and demeaning accusations. He did not succeed. He looked and acted like a grumpy old man, gesticulating and forcing a cartoonish smile for the cameras, especially for his buddy "Joe the Plumber".

Who is really Joe the Plumber? You can find out about him on the Internet. he has become a celebrity thanks to MCain. Unfortunately, if Joe the Plumber is an honest worker, struggling with the economy, he will see his business continue to go down the drain, his health care issues unresolved and unaffordable, and if he is young, married with children he will not be able to afford for their education, because Joe the Plumber, like many other confused and uneducated voters, will ultimately cast his vote for McCain. If this can be of any consolation to you, poor Joe, remember that McCain owns 7 homes and at one point or another he might need plumbing work for all of them. Hurry up and take his phone number in exchange for your vote! However, if Joe the Plumber is like the plumbers I had to deal with, who charge you $80 just to show up, and leave with a $200 check after a 45 minute job, then, Senator McCain, don't worry about Joe, he is better off than the rest of us, especially now that you made him famous. Watch for some opportunistic leach to help him write his book.

For some time already I have been tempted to make this physical comparison but I have held back because I did not want to insult the memory of the person I compare McCain to. That person is Charlie Chaplin at his old age stage. Obviously, there is a big difference in all other aspects, such as intellectually, humorously and philosophically. McCain lacks all of those attributes. I feel bad for McCain. He is in the sunset of his political career and he leaves frustrated, defeated and deflated. I don't wish that on anyone and no matter how much I dislike him as a politician without a plan, he is probably a good human being. But such is life and such is the result of being on the wrong side most of the times when it comes to helping this country to help its people.

Angry McCain with his twisted distortions of the issues, even dared to ridiculed the constitutional rights of a woman to choose ending a life threatening pregnancy at an advanced stage, by making the sign of "quote-unquote" with his fingers when mentioning the word health, as if that was a petty excuse for women to terminate their pregnancy. He, of course, wants to repeal Roe Vs Wade, which will never happen because the strength of this country is based on the freedom of choice without government enforcement.

So all in all, McCain looked to me during this debate like a residential building doorman (nothing wrong with being a doorman) who is not interested in deep analysis and discussions on any big issue with the building tenants, because he, like the doorman, realizes that no one in that building has the time to listen to him and especially because all he has to say is gossip about everyone or somebody in that residence. There you have it, another nickname for McCain... McDoorman.

Obama won this final debate making it a sweep for the Democratic party 4-0 and the polls will continue showing him ahead and gaining ground in Republican states. There are still 3 weeks to go. In a presidential campaign that is a long time, but considering the advantage that Obama has already accumulated and the number of new democratic party registrations versus the Republican party ones, I believe that this race is over.

Suggestion for McManynicknames: With all the money you possess try to enjoy life after politics, but please do apologize first to everyone you have insulted their intelligence with your lies. It will help you live a much better life, because although money is very significant, our conscience is much more important, especially when we retire to sleep in the silence of our bedroom filled with the ghosts of our daily behaviour.

PS: By the way, if you watched the debate, did you notice that McCain's health plan will not cover you for a transplant? So if you need a kidney or a liver or a heart, good bye!

TRADERS AND TRAITORS

The title of this blog may sound like a Leon Tolstoy novel, but as you read you will realize it's only me, the part-time rookie writer, who releases stress expressing his thoughts through the Internet. And nothing could be closer to the truth than writing to relieve political stress, which this year is abundant.
Today, the stock market dropped another 700 points, more or less. The Dow Jones is now under 8,600 points and one year ago we hit a high of over 14,000 points! Is this bottom? I don't think so. We'll probably see Wall Street weirdos applaud at the closing of the trading a few more times until the Dow Jones goes down to 7,000. That will be a 50% loss in one year! So far the traders are not trading, they are selling, dumping and creating mayhem in the stock market.

While this is happening, McCain and his newly formed female "tag- team" made of Sarah Barracuda Palin and his wife Cindy, keep scaring undecided with the lowest tactics, that are not even permitted on a faked wrestling match. Cindy, who up to now was in my list of innocents, has now plunged into the Republican dirt pool of lies and denial. She is criticizing Obama for voting against spending more money to support the troops in Iraq, while her son is there defending our freedom (I am still trying to understand that over abused statement, because if I recall correctly, the only one who attempted against our freedom was, and still is, Osama Bin Laden and AlQeida, not Iraq). In her statement she neglected to say that:
a) Obama voted against because there was no mentioning of any timeline.
b) Her husband, McNasal, (listen to him when he talks, please) also voted against it on a later Senate session, because there was a timeline.
c) Again, her husband, McWar, voted in favor of the Iraq invasion, which
brought her son there. Is she also going to ask her husband to put
himself in her shoes? I wonder how McCrabby would look in high
heels nasalizing his despicable personal attacks on Obama, instead of
letting Queen Crab Palin do his dirty work.

McCain and his tag-team are trying to make Obama look like a non-American, like a foreigner who is hiding something. Like a conniving terrorist, or like one who has links with terrorists. McCain campaign has fallen to the lowest of the deep pit, but that is not important in my view. What really matters is something else that he says, like "My friends, I know how to fix the economy. I know how to manage the budget. I know how to, blah, blah, blah. And I know how to get Osama Bin laden". Here is my concern and question: If he knows all those things and has solutions to all our problems and especially and most important...he knows how to get Osama Bin Laden...WHAT THE HELL IS HE WAITING FOR? Isn't he supposed to be a hero? Go ahead, get Bin Laden! Do it for your country! Isn't it supposed to be "Country First"? Or is it "Country First...after me" Mr. Maverick?

In my book, he who knows how to defeat the enemy and by not doing it hurts his country, is a traitor. And using McCain's cowardly approach when he said "I don't want to talk about that terrorist Ayers, but Obama met with him, blah, blah, blah ", I am not saying that Mc the Erratic is a traitor, I am only generalizing one definition of it, which in this case might very well fit McLie. I prefer to believe he is just a big liar and desperate bullshiter.

My dislike for Sarah Palin is evident in every blog where I mention her name, which in turn gives me a stomach pain. But I must make very clear that on the personal level I have no feelings towards her, neither good, nor bad. Indifference. On the political arena she is a vicious cold blooded bitch. I don't know how else to describe her. And because this presidential campaign is not about tits and legs, but about meat and eggs: about the economy and not about the anatomy, McCain's choice of Sarah Palin as his running mate was a huge mistake. She reminds me of an empty headed beauty pageant contestant, who in the heat of her enthusiasm would say any stupidity during her 2 minutes of fame on how to save our planet.

In this outrageous Republican campaign she shows up at a rally of morons who are hypnotized by her high heels and shiny lipstick, and she goes to work unleashing monstrous lies, and wrong facts about Obama. Her brainless crowds adore her and cheer and she gets comfortable and starts winking every five words to connect with those morons, who are still entitled to their opinion and preference. Let's not forget that in a democracy, even moronic people are entitled to their opinion and ideals.

I have been calling her Queen Crab. It's easy to know why, she is the maximum authority of Alaska. But now it happens that there are some
genealogists linking her to Princess Diana, as 10th cousin once removed.
(removed from what?). So after all Queen Crab belongs to the aristocracy? I let my imagination run wild and see a new dynasty in the White House, replacing the Bush one. The Crab Dynasty with McCain as the crabby old man and Palin the Queen Crab. And you thought we had hit bottom?
Fortunately, my imagination is only an excuse for this essay, and after this presidential freak show by Crabby and Crab with the nomination of Obama and Biden, this country will return to its senses and slowly but surely will start on the recovery road. A road where the economy is priority one, and where health care has to be defined as a right, not a responsibility.
What will Queen Crab do after both she and McCain go back to their "normal" lives? Can she still be Alaska's Governess? Will she ask that Kenyan voo-doo priest to perform another public exorcism on her?
Would she buy a new helicopter and ammunition to hunt some more wolves, caribous and extinct species? Will she go to France and hunt Brigitte Bardot for calling her a "disgrace to women" and "stupid"?
Or, now that she thinks she is related to Prince Andrew of England, will
she try to change her demeanor to adjust to her new aristocratic role?

It is hard to determine what she will do after her quick rise and fall from the presidential campaign. To me, she will always be Queen Crab more than Princess Palin. After all she is already known as The Barracuda and the Pit Bull. One more animal reference to her won't change anything.

The second presidential debate is about to start. As I see it, this will be another defeat for McSenile and by association, for his pit bull, barracuda, Queen Crab Sarah Palin.

The stock market went down again today another 500 + points for a total of 5,000 points since last October! The republican administration got us down in a ditch and now they are behaving like they want to throw us a rope? I would not hang on to that rope as they might let go on our way up to make sure this time we are really dead.

I am aware this is a big country of 305 million people, of which about one third will be voting on November 4, 2008 and based mainly on the quality, honesty and knowledge of Obama I predict a landslide by the Democratic candidate, unless...
a) The Angels above and all the Saints who usually have breakfast, lunch and dinner with the Evangelists every day, intervene on behalf of McCain and make this economical collapse turn around in 28 days to gain 5,000 points in the Dow Jones. That miracle would include to have all the CEOs who walked away with millions or billions of dollars after their miserable performance running their companies, to repent and sell all their properties in order to compensate the suffering American public. Everyone is happy and now we switch to...The War!

b) Osama Bin Laden sends a new video to the world declaring that the whole economical catastrophe in the world is a consequence of his actions, and he declares victory over the "capitalistic, unfaithful world". Let's not forget that he is still hiding somewhere between Afghanistan or Pakistan and that Bush invaded Iraq instead of going after that despicable terrorist and AlQeida. Immediately after that video, a large percentage of our population will switch their brainwashed brain to "war mode" and in favor of McCain, the maverick, the pilot, the warrior. Especially now that his partner, the barracuda, is ready to declare war to all our adversaries, including Spain, who is not. Ignorance, as I always say, is one of the most dangerous human shortcomings. In the case of Palin, even more grave, because that ignorance is augmented with vile lies.

Inasmuch as those two things are not going to happen in less than a month, it is clear that McLie and Pa-lie, the tandem of liars, will suffer the worst defeat Republicans have experienced since we have elections in this country.

But wait! Now Obama, according to Queen Crab, is a domestic terrorist!
Will that appeal to the American psyche? Or perhaps we will also have to painfully find out that the following events/acts/happenings were caused or are tied to Obama:

Throughout a couple of lopsided interviews we were able to witness the wit of a professional versus the ignorance of a hick. But that "aperitif" was obviously not enough to satiate our hunger. We needed a debate to catch our Alaskan fish. The De"bait" adventure was the hook line and "stinker" needed to confirm this was a no contest. A real pro, Biden, facing Queen Crab. The crab was lost the moment she opened her mouth. (Queen Crab or Barracuda, same big mouth)

WHAT COULD SAVE MCCAIN?

To those Republicans that might be reading my blog (I doubt that), yes, McCain is in real trouble. He may lose by a landslide, as the polls keep showing his downward fall, while Obama keeps going up with state and national polls. The maverick is getting thrashed and if this trend continues with 34 days to go, we may be witnessing a landslide by Obama.
But...and here is a big but...Don't underestimate the Republican trickery, they are full of ruses up their sleeves, and most of them dirty ones. I can think of the following ones:

1.- Two weeks before election day the White House announces they have captured Osama Bin Laden, after following McCain's plan and secret advice.Of course, they don't divulge where they have Bin Laden and how they got him. Everything is TOP SECRET, and McCain is enjoying an incredible rise in the polls that puts him back in contention with high possibilities of winning it all. Am I implying that we have really captured Osama Bin Laden? Of course not! I am just putting myself in the shoes of the desperate Republicans who would not stop at anything to continue their quest for another four years of arrogance, ignorance, lies, and disdain.

2.- The failed bailout, now called " The Rescue Plan " for the second voting process, gets approved by Congress with the additional votes needed by the Republicans who voted against it the first time. The stock market feels the effect of that miraculous injection and shoots up like a rocket to the moon. The Republicans go on a ticket parade with their hero McCain and heroine (no punt intended) Palin as the parade Marshalls, throwing kisses and making all kind of hands and fingers waving at their adoring crowds in Missouri, Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, Texas, Kentucky...well, you know where. McCain's waiving somehow
handicapped as a consequence of his torturing suffered in Vietnam, and Palin's overcompensating with her fingers ballet-like movements. The Odd Couple on wheels.

3.- After a complete self-caused demise by Sarah Palin on her first and last debate against Biden, the Grand Ostrich Republican party (isn't the ostrich the animal that solves his problems by hiding his head in a hole?) will put enough pressure on McMaverick to dump Queen Crab back into the Alaska Seas and make it look like she decided to quit in order to attend her heavy, complicated, difficult and demanding PTA schedule. If McHero pulls this one, and hopefully for him not a la McGovern, who dumped his running mate Thomas F. Eagleton after 18 days of campaigning and then lost the elections, he may have a chance of creeping up the polls and still be a serious contender. Considering that at least three million Nascar fans, one million super senior Florida Jews (previously New York residents) scared to death about Obama being a Muslim who will support Palestinians over Israelis, the entire Miami Cuban population (about one million) lead by "the three licketeers" (the Diaz Balart brothers and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen), and at least another twenty million of "Hominis Ignoramus" troglodytes are strong McCain supporters, with or without Palin, the Palin Dumping is not a far fetched theory.

Unfortunately for the Republicans, Osama Bin Laden is still hiding among the Pakistani or Afghan goats, making it very difficult for the military K-9 dogs to differentiate the body odor. Obviously it is unfortunate for all of us that Bin Laden has not been caught and brought to justice. I want to make that clear before anyone jumps at my neck and goes for the jugular.
Also, to the Republicans disappointment, McCain will not be able to claim credit for the Rescue Plan, because Obama also contributed with his input to get this plan pass.
And finally, because it is a given that Sarah Palin has no clue about the rest of the world, or anything else, and McCain knew that from day one and regardless of that he chose her as his running mate. He must have his reasons because I don't think it is just to satisfy the Republican base. Therefore he is not going to ask her to go back to her wolves and caribou shooting or to her foreign neighbors watching from her window to acquire more foreign policy knowledge. He is stuck with her and both are going to go down these elections faster than an elephant in quick sand.
So sorry I lead you in, "my friends", into a horizon of great expectations. Did you think I was serious? McCain is politically doomed. Nothing can save him!

WHO'S IN CHARGE?

The Bailout Plan failed. Two third of the Republicans voted against the bill, in spite of "Heroic Maverick Efforts" by McPain.

That's too bad because I was already making plans with the profit sharing I was about to collect five years from now from this plan. Give me a break!

However, all things considered, I would had rather see the bailout bill pass to avoid this additional global warming doom. The only difference is that this economical one will be felt immediately.

With the announcement of the failed bill, the stock market fell almost 800 points in the USA. Other major world markets will fall to an unprecedented low too in the next 24 hours. The consequences of this could be fatal for many small businesses with massive layoffs and more damage to the already weak economy.

While all this is happening, many like me are wondering who is in charge of this country. Is it our Commander-in-Chief? The Democratic majority in Congress? The Republicans? Henry Paulson, the Treasury Secretary?
Exxon-Mobil's CEO? Walmart? Bank of America or Citigroup? WHO THE HELL IS IN CHARGE?

We are 305 million people, we have a president, a congress, 2 million lawyers (I just picked this number from a hat), some of the best economists in the world, and we can't solve this problem?

Someone in the Internet came up with an interesting idea. Instead of bailing out AIG and the other culprits why not giving every American over the age of 18 the sum of $360,000 each, after taxes. Yes, if you multiply this amount by about 200 million people you get at least 85 billion dollars. Imagine if we would get instead the prorate of the 700 billion dollars plan! We would all be close to the figure McCain estimated is the cap for our middle class citizen, about 4 million dollars. With that, Uncle Sam could make automatically 30%, no 1040s to fill up or any other complicated IRS papers, and everyone would jump with joy. The whole USA millionaire! Isn't that the dream of capitalism with the "trickle down" theory?

Of course, as good as it sounds, it does not work. My estimation is that of those 200 million people, at least half of them would quit their jobs, thus paralyzing industries, factories, construction, education, farm work, etc. etc. That in itself would already be the mother of all chaoses. Another 10% would move to a premature retirement in Florida, God no!
10% would probably use the money to buy a Testa Rossa Masserati or a Bentley (depending on their age) and other luxuries. 20% would probably get plastic surgery, you know, breast enlargement, face lifts, tummy tucks, sex change, and the like. The remaining responsible 10% might use that money to pay their mortgages, other debts and live happily ever after.
Therefore, I don't see that plan as a workable one to solve this crisis. WE NEED SOMEONE IN CHARGE! Someone with credibility and enough balls to hold the rains of this animal that is running amok, uncontrollable and overflowed with greed.
Will Congress finally agree on a bill that pleases both Democrats and Republicans? We already know it does not have to please us, but, as usual we'll take whatever they throw at us if it means it will stabilize this chaotic situation and people will not lose their jobs, their homes, their pensions, and their third world health care plans. Or perhaps on their next attempt, will the Republicans demand that Nancy Pelosi wear the same make up and eyeglasses as Sarah Palin in order to give them enough motivation to vote in favor of any other bailout package? We don't want these Republicans be offended a second time by the Speaker of the House, who blamed Bush and them for this mess, before the vote. She hurt their feelings! Which brings me to..."Country First", McCain's campaign theme. Apparently Congress Republicans don't seem to agree with their "Maverick", who also apparently, was not able to convince them to vote "yes". What a Maverick!

The picture we're looking at is not just about the market meltdown, it is more severe than that. It tells us that we are not capable to tackle a crisis as a united front without partidism. It also tell us that the Republican party with the presidential ticket they have been stuck with, are very unhappy and frustrated. To mention an example, all Republican Congressmen from Arizona, McCain's State, voted against the bill, that is, against McCain the Maverick, who almost cancelled his appearance in the first presidential debate to run to Washington for a superb convincing job to get them to vote for the bailout bill.

We also know who was at fault for this bill not to pass. Obama. You don't need any details. It was a statement made by McCain who will say anything to fill up his campaign speeches. Senility is a sad stage for a human being.

So, I go back to my blog title...WHO IS RUNNING THE SHOW?

WILL THE REAL MCCAIN AND PALIN PLEASE STAND UP!

Do you remember that old TV game show that started in 1956 and went on every decade until 2002, called TO TELL THE TRUTH?

I happened to be one of the lucky contestants in the show aired in 1971. I was 30 years old then, and would do anything for attention. I was invited by CBS in New York because the main character was supposed to be a person with an unusual occupation or had done something noteworthy. In this occasion that main character was a hotel owner in Mexico City, who was simultaneously a bullfighter. The name is not important, especially because I don't remember it!
I was one of the two impostors, who had been invited to sit along with the real bullfighter and my mission was to answer questions by the panel made of four celebrities, and to lie as much as I could, but with total conviction, to the point where I personally would believe my own lies! It had to look real as the idea was to mislead the panel and get them to vote for me as the real character. Bottom line, I got 2 out of the 4 votes. The other impostor got one, and the real bullfighter also one. So I won $50 and an attache briefcase! Inflation, among other things, account for today's game shows that reward you with thousands of dollars. What a difference! (Cheap bastards!).

Anyway, as I said at the beginning of this story, I was 30 years old, energetic, always up to something new and always trying to impress someone, or me. That day of the show I was not even nervous and I felt it was a challenging thing to do, especially because I was going to make some money lying, kind of McCain's pattern. Imagine getting rewarded for not telling the truth just like in politics! I remember at one point of the questioning I was asked who was my favorite bullfighter and I, not knowing what to say, quickly gave the panel the name of my boss at work.
No way he was going to be watching that show! Wrong. He did. The first phone call I got the next morning at 9:01 was his. Fortunately, it was inconsequential and we both had a good laugh about it.

It doesn't work that way when one lies in real life to obtain what otherwise one would not have the capacity with his own credentials and means. As a matter of fact, besides hurting other people one would eventually hurt himself even more. That is, of course, if one had any principles.

I would love to recreate "To tell the truth" but with a Machiavellian twist. Instead of having a central character with an unusual occupation, I would
stick both McCain and Palin behind a long desk that would seat 4 people instead of 3. Both contestants would play musical chairs, occupying always a different chair as if they were different people. So two contestants and four characters with different answers all the time for the same questions. Kind of the real thing in the Republican ticket. And best of all, to maintain the essence of the show alive, all lies, which would look terribly natural with these two "characters"

At the end the celebrity panel would pose the famous question (with the necessary modification): "Will the real McCain and Palin please stand up!" What chair would they chose to stand up from? The confusion moving from one chair to another, standing up, sitting down, back and forth would create a total chaos and both the panel and the audience would crack up laughing at that ridiculous scene. I guess, kind of what's happening during the Republican campaign now, because neither one, after so many lies, know who they really are.

I don't have that briefcase anymore and I regret it today. It would have been a nice memento of a chapter of my life. As for McCain and Palin, when this is over and years go by, they will never lose their mementos. It is way inside them. It is their conscience. Was it worthy?

I have just received in my mail a DVD called "OBSESSION". It is about radical Islam war against the west. Unfortunately, it is not a DVD to teach us about these sick terrorists. The main and sole purpose of this DVD is to scare us. To scare us against the democrats and particularly Obama. It is a typical despicable Republican propaganda to instill fear.
This documentary is being sent by The Clarion Fund, 255 West 36th Street, New York, NY 10018. I am giving their address with the hope that someone living in New York may be brave enough to dump a huge crane full with garbage at their front door, as an even exchange.

No doubt these extreme Muslims are very dangerous and that we should do everything possible to get rid of them, but as we all know, we decided to invade Iraq instead, lose 4,100 American soldiers and 500 billion dollars so far, while the biggest assassin of them all, Osama Bin Laden, is still laughing at us. This DVD is being distributed through different newspapers in the mail to a targeted audience in "swing" election states. It is a very calculated move with political purposes only to scare the ignorant masses who think they will be "protected" by McCain.

It is important to mention that one newspaper, the Greensboro News & Record in North Carolina, refused to distribute it by turning away the money they were offered, claiming it was "divisive" and that it played on people's fears, serving no educational purpose. Bravo to the Greensboro News & Record for showing these despicable political opportunistic worms that before the party and the money, there is something called PRINCIPLES. Principles is something that the extreme right wing completely ignores as long as it serves their purpose and not the one of the country.

It is also obvious that The Clarion Fund is an instigator of the Bush's ideology and of all his Evangelist Christians followers who believe we should engage into another Crusade as in the period from 1096 to 1270. Moors against Christians defending not any country but the "true" religion and true God.

After 8 years of Republicans at the helm we have gone backwards on every aspect, the economy, education, health care, energy and...religion!
Religion is now dominating the abstract stage. We don't hear about it, we don't see it, but it's there in the millions of ignorant people who will go to the urns and vote for McCain because he's got a running mate who is against abortion, regardless and under any circumstance, and who believes that God told Bush to invade Iraq, and that global warming is a democratic trick. Ignorance together with false patriotism and fear, as the one The Clarion Fund and many other right wing organizations want to put in our minds, are the main ingredients for these elections. Not the issues, but the weaknesses of our diminutive brains are going to try to reward the same party that screwed this country for two consecutive terms.

With this gloomy perspective ahead I believe I now have to use religion to save us from the Republicans and their unpatriotic selfishness, arrogance, fear tactics, and mismanagement...GOD, PLEASE HELP US!

"The fundamentals of the economy are strong". Those were the exact words pronounced by McCain this morning in one of his lying trips, while Lehman Bros. was filing for Chapter 11, and Merrill Lynch was being gulped by Bank of America.

Never mind that the domino reaction of these two major anti-economic events happening simultaneously will be massive layoffs in both badly managed companies, and grave payroll consequences for smaller companies that had made financial investments with them.

With this great news, the stock market plunged 500 points (Dow Jones). The second largest loss since 9-11. And "out of touch McCain" said that the fundamentals of the economy are strong. But, in all honesty, we should be less judgemental when it comes to the war martyr, oops, hero. When he made that thoughtful comment he was comparing our country to Zambia, Slovenia, Bosnia, Honduras, etc. etc. Please, citizens and sympathizers of these mentioned countries, I have nothing against you. As a matter of fact I believe your countries are beautiful and rich of history and traditions and you have all my respect. I am only trying to define our economy in relation to yours, and as you know the economy is not a product of a country's doing or of its citizens work. The economy is the result of a government mishandling with gross mistakes and unscrupulous support of those who strangle the middle class to get even richer, so they, this government gets a piece of the action. For example getting unending financial support to be elected to the presidency.
McCain, however, rather than admitting he is totally out of touch with what's happening here, makes a stupid comment and later, when he realizes it is backfiring, he claims that the comment referred to us the people, we are the fundamentals of the economy! We the people are responsible for the market debacle of 7 years and of today's crash!

Thus, in addition to being a liar, an ex playboy, a selfish ex-husband (he abandoned his first wife Carol, also a beauty model, when she got disfigured and paralyzed after a terrible car accident, while he was in Vietnam acquiring world experience during his torturing years as a prisoner of war), and, as admitted by him, not too knowledgeable in the economy matters, he is now blaming us, the people, for the market calamity of today. We are the fundamentals, and although we are basically strong (thank God!) we let this happen!

We shall see in the days to come what are the real consequences of Lehman Brothers' and Merrill Lynch's disastrous end. How many more people are going to lose their jobs? How many more families are going to see their homes on foreclosure? How many are going to choose between getting proper medical treatment or paying their predators credit cards high interest bills? How many are going to die because of a pre-existing condition and being denied coverage by the Human Murderers Organizations, a.k.a HMOs?

And when all this happens, remember who is at fault. We are. The people, better known according to McCain, as the "fundamentals".

I have no doubt, considering the high percentage of ignorants in our country, that millions of "fundamentals" will go to the urns and cast their vote for McCain, because he is a "patriot". According to these ignorant citizens we have the unfortunate pleasure to cohabitate with in the same country, a patriot is a person who sings the National Anthem every day, at every sport event, during any cultural, commercial, or political gathering; and whenever possible, stands to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. These are the same people who hate Black people, Jews, Christians, Women, Hispanics, Orientals, Muslims and anything that threatens their 6-pack, their cigar smoking on a golf course, their 60-inch TV set and their disregard for the rest of us. They don't care if the economy is in shambles, if health care is non-existent, if education is unaffordable and below standards, if they have to pay 5 dollars for a gallon of gas. They like the USA the way it has become, because they are comfortable within their limitations. These are the McCain voters.

So, because the fundamentals of the economy are strong and it really does not affect you, ignorant cohabitant of mine, go ahead and vote for McCain. I guess we get what we deserve.

My only hope is that everyone who wants our country to return to the good old time of health, prosperity and honesty, who really loves our country and who wants our country to be loved and respected by the rest of the free world, goes to the urns on November 4, 2008 and votes against four more years of Bush. You don't reward a political party, that has screwed this country so badly, with four more years of incompetence and dishonesty. I do not underestimate the power of ignorance, but I do hope that the power of honesty and frustration prevails.

A FIVE-RING CIRCUS

But not the Ringling Brothers one. This one is about the "Pathetic Convention" that followed the Democratic Convention. I remember when I was a little boy, my mother used to take me and my brothers to the circus because she thought I would enjoy it. I never told her I was afraid of the clowns. I don't know why but they gave me the chills. I thought that clowns were hiding their faces with exagerated make-up, because they really had something to hide. Something very bad.

I saw so many similarities with the circus clowns during the "Pathetic Convention"! Even the music, mainly marching bands, playing patriotic
themes to captivate us with national pride as a wonderful strategy to
hide their mediocre performance. At one point they all stood up and delivered the Pledge of Allegiance. That was incredible and unique. By then, the entire audience was under the spell. Nothing they could say or do would be wrong. Brilliant!

On ring number one, there were the high trapeze men, jumping and flying from one subject to another with a lot of air in between, and trying to keep things balanced to avoid falling to a floor without net. On ring number two, a lot of elephants, making deafening uncoordinated noise in a sea of extreme confusion. On ring number three, center stage,
THE CLOWNS! The dreaded clowns! One after another performing to the laughter of the crowds. They, as usual, had nothing of substance or logical to say. It was slapstick at its best, insults, slapping, banging, running around one after another with no real direction, falling, getting up, picking their noses. All the stupid things that clowns do to make us laugh, because they have nothing else to say or accomplish. What I found interesting among these clowns was the introduction for the first time in this circus of a couple of cartoon characters, SUPER HERO and WONDER WOMAN.

They were, without any doubt, the climax of this pathetic convention. They did not disappoint me as their performance was extraordinary, worthy of the best science fiction comic book. Although my favorite is still SUPERMAN, who will never be outstaged by Pathetics or Democrats.

Rings four and five were just carrying on, but no one was paying attention. Number four was actually shown on a giant screen. It was not physically present at the Convention, not to break the pattern. It was, therefore, irrelevant. On ring number five they had the "PATHETICS". That was a large group of individuals dressed with dark suits and ugly ties. They all looked like beings from another planet pretending to be earthlings. Kind of reminded me of that old TV series "V", where the invaders looked like people, but in reality they were dangerous lizards from another galaxy. These people-look alike on ring number five were trying to be part of the circus by making outrageous comments during one-on-one interviews. The idea, I think, was to try to outdo the previous talker with a bigger lie and a lower I.Q. I had never seen such an original number in the circus before. I must admit it was unique and harmonized in their own peculiar way with the clowns act.

Oh, before I forget, there was an incredible act performed by a male puppet chameleon. During his act he kept changing colors to please everyone. He even became colorless to please the color-blind crowd!
The zenith of his performance was when he spoke and said he was a democrat!

I could mention the names of the clowns and of all the characters, and believe me...they were some characters! But like in any circus, the clowns are just there to make us laugh. They do not get top billing. Actually, no one gets top billing in any circus.

How I miss the real circus when I was young, even with the frightening clowns. At least they were honest!

WHAT GAME ARE THEY PLAYING?

After McCain selected who will be his running mate for the presidential elections my question is...Does he know what game he's playing?
It seems to me that McCain who up to now was engaged in a game of Political Poker, he decides to draft now a female replica of Charlton Heston. His choice, Sarah Palin, an ex mayor of a town of a little over six thousand people in Alaska, and currently the Governor of Alaska, a state purchased by the USA from the Russian Empire in 1867. With this move, McCain has already secured 3 electoral votes. The problem for McCain is that Palin is not Hillary Clinton. If he thinks that she is going to get the women vote that otherwise would have gone to Hillary, he's for a big surprise. Sarah Palin, I don't care how intelligent she might be and whatever other attributes, is a conservative who wants to make abortion illegal, who does not believe in contraception and who eats moose burgers, in other words she is pro gun rights and enjoys killing animals for fun. I don't think those are the women who voted for Hillary. Additionally, how experienced can she be in basic economics when her only economical worries up to now have been making sure Alaska continues to export oil, gas and fish. That means she is for drilling in Alaska, to contribute to the 3% total oil production that is consumed in the world.
Now here is another angle that we did not know about McCain...he likes women for their looks. His wife Cindy was a beauty contest winner. So was Sarah Palin. Should someone tell McCain that he is running for the most important position in the world and not to be a judge at a Miss Universe contest?

I am sure that McCain is not looking to buy a house in Alaska. He already has seven of them in the USA, and at his age the cold weather is not the most advisable, especially if you become ill enough or die, to relinquish powers to an unknown person who likes to shoot Caribou, and who at one point of her life was known as Sarah Barracuda. But what is he really trying to achieve with this surprising election? This country wants change and it has clearly stated that during the Democratic Convention. What change can Palin bring to the table? An anti-abortion law? A strong support to the oil companies to drill in the USA and get larger tax breaks than the ones McCain wants to give them? Or, a free for all gun rights so every American can possess in addition to Winchesters, Mossbergs, Remingtons and other, machine guns and bazookas?

Somebody should tell this Republican team that if you get to the White House (which, fortunately with the curriculum they both bring and their archaic ideas it will not happen) this country is larger and more diversified than Alaska and that we have a total of 300 million people versus Alaska's population of about 700 thousand people. Only about 0.23% of this country's total. Gun possession may be a way of life in Alaska, and an unfortunate right for the entire country, but it is time we start looking at the crime rates in every state and do something about a better control of who sells these weapons and who buys them and for what purpose.
As a Democrat I am really excited about McCain's choice. I was hoping for Lieberman, the chameleon, the one who changes parties when his team is losing. That would have forced him to change once again, but this time he would have to retire and go back to his travelling trunk with Mr.Wences (he is also dead). I said I am excited about McCain's pick for the Vice president position, because it is another McCain's gaffe, like for instance the one about...."Iraq is a peaceful place now", as a suicide terrorist exploded (what a shame!) and killed 60 people a few days later; or like..."I thought that people who only make 4 million dollars a year are still comfortably part of the middle class".

What kind of game are the republicans playing? Parcheesi. I remember that game! I was 7 years old, many years ago. You moved forward, then you got trapped and went back to home, then you kept rolling the die (yes, die is the correct plural of dice) and could not get out for a while till you got a double or a 5 (I forgot that rule). That's the game Republicans are playing today, because that's what they are inheriting from the Parcheesi Master, George W. Bush. Not a good game to play when everybody else play with Blackberries, Wii, X-Box, and other ultra modern technology gadgets.
Like Obama said...EIGHT IS ENOUGH! And he wasn't talking about a family movie. He was talking about a horror flick that we all had to watch and be part of it. Thank you John McCain and Sarah Palin, for bringing down the curtain without any calls come November.

THE DISGUSTING RIGHT WING EXTREMISTS

Somehow I feel that the title of this blog is too generous, but as it progresses I will come up with more adjectives that best describe these sub-species.
They are all over the Internet sending malicious emails, fabricating lies against Obama, trying to scare everyone whose I.Q is comparable to theirs. What I don't understand is why they are not sued for slender, or at least ridiculed by the Obama campaign. Is it because Obama is too much of a gentleman and prefers not to lower himself to their level? Or is it because democrats don't know how to fight dirty like republicans do?

The fact is that these reptiles are inundating the Internet with false accusations and it seems that they never run out of poison from their bi forked viperine tongues.
I find their comments so nauseating that I have decided from now on not to read their repugnant writings.
I suppose it is the only option they have left during these presidential campaigns, inasmuch as they know they have lost their power and they will be kicked out of the White House come January 2009. Poor sore losers! They know that McCain is very old to be Commander-in-Chief and that he is a two-face republican. They also know that he does not share their extremist right wing radical ideals and as such they cannot say good things about him, so they decide to go full blast with their inventions against Obama.

After these elections they will hibernate for the next four years with their tails between their legs, and will surface again for the next elections, disseminating their vicious lies once more. That is the only thing they know how to do well. There will be millions of Americans who will believe every single lie they read and will fall for this type of brainwashing, pushing them to vote for the wrong person, in this case McCain. You can see it now, it is starting to cause a decline in the polls for Obama and although I do not believe 100% in polls, it is clear that Americans are already being influenced by this negative campaign. It happened before with Kerry and Edwards and it is happening again with Obama. We tend to forget about the real significant issues and lean favorably towards the gossip and false accusations. Unfortunate, but true.

One of the worst vile smear peddlers of the 2004 election has directed his slender to a new democratic target. Jerome Corsi, infamous for his lies and distortions on the Swift Boat smear campaign is now publishing a book against Obama using the same ultra right wing dirty tricks, which, of course, are attracting our gossip loving population. No one is going to stop him, especially the media which will give him plenty of coverage, as that will improve their ratings. Therefore, we are once again facing a presidential election where voters will cast their ballots influenced by these fabrications, instead of by the real pressing issues our country is faced with.

Although I am still confident that common sense will prevail and that we will finally kick the big oil supporters Republicans out of Office, this is not going to be an easy task. To eradicate cancer from a victim it usually takes a miracle but when the victim in this case is our country we are going to need in addition to divine intervention, to focus on the issues and dismiss all the paranoid comments of so many paranoid right wing extremists like Corsi. You can read more about this sick demented bigot on the Internet.

I probably failed using more appropriate and demeaning epithets. I am sure I did, because no matter what we say to describe these deranged people, we are always too kind to them. No matter what, I feel relieved I have contributed to tell them off. I only mentioned Jerome Corsi, but believe me, there are thousands of parasites like Corsi floating on the Internet and waiting to embed themselves in millions of naive gullible Americans, who either because of ignorance or perhaps because of their trust in other people, fall pray of these parasites.

If you love your country and you want to be a real patriot, don't let insects the likes of Corsi deposit their larvae in your skin. Look around to see what is wrong with this country and how we can change it to make it once again what it used to be. Maybe you are not sure about Obama, but you should be very sure that McCain is definitely not the solution, he is rather the salt added to our injury.

DEMOCRATS LOST THESE ELECTIONS!

Oh boy! We really blew it this time! Senator Edwards has finally admitted he had an affair!
The story was first reported by that prestigious newspaper "The National Enquirer", but because everything this newspaper prints is pure sensational garbage, no one gave it real importance. Apparently, the woman he had an affair with in the year 2006 has put some pressure in the issue claiming she had a child with him. John Edwards has made a full admission of this capital sin, punishable with the guillotine or to be hung from a tree in Missouri. However, he adamantly denies being the father of the child and has volunteered to a DNA paternity test.

This happened 2 years ago, while George W. Bush was still lying about the weapons of mass destruction, and being indifferent to the thousands of people left homeless due to hurricane Katrina. Of course, Bush has not admitted yet that we did not find those weapons in Iraq, and nothing has been done to offer relief to New Orleans and Biloxi victims, therefore those are still moot issues.
But why keep rehashing on such insignificant subjects, when we can dig out dirt from politicians, especially if they are popular and running for the US presidency, or already are. There I must admit that one of the very few exceptions not ever having an affair is our current president. I suppose because not other normal woman would find anything attractive about him. He looks like a monkey and he acts like one. Laura Bush, being such a nice person (I am not being facetious here, honest!) married him while under the influence or under hypnosis. I would have to assume it was the latter, because, as I said, she is saved from his petulance and presidential decisions .
Now, getting back to the issue. Sorry I always divert when I find an excuse to "bashing Bush". I have no doubt that the democrats are now in trouble. First, Clinton in the Oval Office getting a BJ courtesy of Monica Lewinski, that got him impeached. And why not? That oral affair was the cause of
the worst budget deficit this country has ever faced, of the highest unemployment we have experienced in the last 7 years, of an economy crisis, including $4 a gallon gas at the pumps , and finally of an invasion to a Middle East country. Please keep in mind I am only a mediocre writer, but not a historian, so I probably have all my facts and names confused on this subject.
And now, Edwards, committing the biggest mistake a political figure can commit...Adultery. The rest of them in the Senate are saved because they only have minor errors in their curriculum, such as robbery, lies, fraud, depravity, taking money from lobbyists, and giving themselves retirement and other benefits that "we the people" will never ever dream of obtaining for ourselves.
This whole thing brings me to a necessary comparison I find mandatory to make. The President of France, Mr. Nicolas Sarkozy, married a beautiful woman, who is also intelligent, but she was a nude model in Italy before tying the knot with Sarkozy. French citizens and all other Europeans did not mind that. They voted for Sarkozy, they never made a relevant case of this couple before marrying or after. I guess because they are so stupid and they don't know that a president of a nation who marries a model who has posed in the nude, is totally handicapped to make decisions about the economy, health care, foreign policy, and other insignificant and irrelevant issues. These Europeans never bothered to check Sarkozy's personal life. They should have because it is not what he can do for his country, but what he can do for his personal life or to keep gossip and life intrusion at a level above the citizens' needs. When we elect a person to the highest office, or entertain voting for a candidate who is promising to take care of the poor people and the middle class, and straighten the economy, the first thing we should do is throw away all those absurdities and find out who he's engaged or married to, or how many affairs he's had. As a matter of fact, the substance for the elections should be focusing on the personal and private life and not on what they can do to improve our lives. We are so selfish! Even better, let us nominate The Enquirer and other media, print or TV as the arbiters of our future!

I am exhausted after this deep analysis to the point I may throw up. Problem is...should my vomiting be credited to my cynicism or to the fact that our priorities are totally screwed up. Both?

Afterthought: Is Edwards being crucified because he had an affair? or because he lied about it? In this case...Both!
Maybe I'm being too critical on this subject and the Democrats, although, badly injured might still win in November. The real and tragic truth is that "we the people' never win, regardless.

THE WAY OF THE WORLD

"The Way of the World".

It's the title of the newest book written by Pulitzer prize winner Ron Suskind. I can't wait to get my hands on it!
Meanwhile I want to comment on one very risky decision made by Suskind to expose the Bush administration. Suskind writes that sources intimately linked to former CIA director, George J. Tenet, have told him that the CIA was ordered by the Bush Administration (does not point the finger at George W. Bush directly, though it's understood) to fake the story about the weapons of mass destruction, in order to justify the Iraq invasion. Obviously, the White House has denied this and will try every possible way to criticize Suskind as a money thirsty writer, who will profit by "inventing" or writing sensationalistic stories. They have dismissed so far everything thrown at them, why not one more.
Unfortunately for the Bush administration, the weapons of mass destruction theory did not stand for lack of same, and the excuse for the invasion was conveniently changed three times already. The mere fact that no WMDs were found, led to many politicians and writers to research and investigate anything and everything in relation to those non existent weapons. Suskind has gone beyond the investigative process and was able to obtain reliable statements from some people directly under Tenet, incriminating directly Mr. Bush and company with this
ignominious lie and faked plan. Of, course, not without some "complications", such as what happened with Suskind's research assistant, Greg Jackson, who in September 2007 was detained in Manhattan, NY by Federal Agents to interrogate him and to confiscate all his notes, which according to Suskind it violated Jackson's First and Fourth Amendments rights. I see it beyond the rights violation. I see it as a criminal act trying to eliminate any information that would incriminate the culprits. Suskind, in this just published book, achieves with great conviction to educate us about the dangers of extremism at World's level. Extremism that has no limits with lies, racism, plots, religion, gender, and age...The Way of the World, as Suskind calls it.
Will this explosive discovery by the Pulitzer prize winner and acclaimed writer put his life in danger? I don't think so. That would be too obvious, He has taken a calculated risk by being the informer of such news and hopefully he has nothing to worry about, unless of course, he suddenly gets sick with some strange illness, or some "unexpected" accident.

THE RISE AND FALL OF THE AIRLINES EMPIRE

It all really started by the necessity of business transactions which required faster transportation of documents from one city to another. Banks were one of the most interested companies with this way of making business. There are many historians that you can find on the Internet, giving us a full account of the people, airplanes and reasons. This is not the reason for my blog. I only want to talk about two major differences in the airline industry. One, the glamorous years of commercial aviation of which I will talk about at the end of this blog, which reached its peak in the 80s until a movie star by the name of Ronald Reagan, who became President of our country, decided to open up the skies with a "Deregulation" law, allowing anyone to form his airline and obtain flying "slots" (that is what it is called when you apply to fly from one point to another during certain days and hours). Right after that, the proliferation of new airlines, with routes already served by the old ones, created a huge competitive market, which was good for the passengers by being able to shop for air fares, but totally ill-fated for the airlines, mainly the old ones. These airlines had to change their commercial philosophy and began applying for newer routes and additional slots in their already existing routes. The over saturation of flights and airplanes, covering the same routes, made the competition even tighter and airfares plummeted, commissions to travel agents, tour operators, incentive corporations, and any one who could form a group increased to the point where airlines needed to operate at full capacity to break even. That was the mess caused by Reagan, supposedly one of the best presidents this country had. Perhaps mainly because of that famous phrase "Tear down this wall " to Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, referring to the Berlin wall dividing Germany into East (communist) and West (democratic). I, honestly do not recall other major accomplishments. But, then again, I may be bias. (Today, most of the Travel Agencies have disappeared, as they could not operate with zero commissions from the airlines).
Reagan, In addition to causing the airlines hit bottom today, that is about 20 years later, broke PATCO (Professional Air Traffic Controllers), an independent trade union organized in 1968, but under Federal Legislation, which forbade them to go on strike (although the U.S. Post Office, under same regulations went on strike and the workers were not fired as in PATCO, by Mr. Reagan). Traffic control suffered the consequences by the massive firing and more airlines, more planes and many more flights were and still are crossing the skies with less traffic controllers watching and supervising.
Both Airlines' insane competitive war, and firing of the traffic controllers were two big screw ups by Mr. Reagan, in spite of all the accolades he has been favored with.
How long could that commercial transportation industry survive without making drastic changes? Well, in my calculation I figure about 8 to 10 years ago. Between 1996 and 1998, commercial aviation as we knew it, began phase one of a complete turnaround to save their butts. Unfortunately saving themselves meant big layoffs, innumerable and absurd measures that violated the basic principal of their existence...CUSTOMER SERVICE. The airlines gradual digression has taken us to a current NON-CUSTOMER SERVICE. Airlines don't serve food anymore, unless flights are 5 hours or longer (some lower the bar at 4 hours). They have eliminated pillows and blankets. They have reduced the size of carry-ons you can take on board to place above your seat.
They are charging for more than one checked bag. They are charging for soft drinks, wine and beer. They make you pay more for a window or aisle seat. They have imposed an extra fee for long flights. They have removed in-flight movies But that is not all...
they want you to book your flights through the Internet so they can further reduce their reservations department staff, almost non existent today. Lately, some of them, have reconsidered to bring back pillows and blankets for a charge of $7.00 Oh, yes, you may take them home to beautify your house or to use on your sofa when you have a fight with your spouse. How considerate of these airlines! What's next? A surcharge if you are a fat ass and block the aisles as you walk to the toilet? A rental fee for seat belts? A surcharge if you bring your own sandwich? A coin operated toilet room? A "gratification fee" to allow you to kiss the stewardess? Ah, but some of them will give you a $ 5 discount coupon for "Bed, Bath and Beyond" for going through all the suffering imposed!
It is really so pathetic that perhaps what airlines should do today is to call themselves Sky Buses, remove all the logos and fuselage paint and instead sell the space to advertisers. Can you imagine how much money they will make? We the passengers could be considered as the product supporters for being inside, but, of course, without pay. Maybe we could earn more discount coupons towards the advertised product. I can imagine a "Frequent Flyer" deciding where to store in his house one thousand cans of coke, for instance. No more crew members, maybe just one called "collector", as in the old tramway or railroad times, to verify if we carry some sort of a ticket, or we chose to pay on board. Also, why 3 cockpit members? One pilot and the co-pilot will suffice. Co-pilots should pass a training to be as well flight engineers. That will reduce the cockpit cost to at least 30 percent. Another way of saving money could be eliminating all that non-sense paper and plastified instructions paraphernalia they place in the back of your seat. Who needs them anyway, if we are just cattle? I bet that would reduce the weight of the airplane by more or less 500 pounds, multiply by the entire fleet it could represent millions of dollars saved in fuel a year.

I believe you got the picture of the airlines future. Bottom line, we the passengers may even end up loading our own luggage in the belly compartments or another additional charge might be imposed so the airlines can offset the payroll of their ramp crew.

This, my friends, as McBush would say, is my vision of today's commercial aviation. It is based on actual facts plus my own suggestions.

Do you remember when men used to wear suits and ties and women big hats, high heels, and furs on their flights? How about when airlines used to take Polaroid pictures of passengers and hand toiletry pouches to everyone? Or when they offered you a choice of chicken, pasta, or red meat for your meal? Surely you recall when you could drink all the beer
and orange juice or sodas you desired for free! Some Super Constellation aircrafts offered sleep-in accommodations for first class passengers, but maybe you don't remember that because you may think a Super Constellation was a bunch of stars discovered by some astrologist much before your time, The good times of the airline industry were the glamorous years, the era when working for an airline was considered a privilege; the time when a passenger was pampered with dignity and elegance; the years when overbookings, long delayes and going to an airport was a pleasure. Airlines used to take you to a restaurant and foot the bill, to a hotel and pay for the overnight and pick you up to bring you back to the next morning flight if these delays were considerably long. If you could not be boarded for normal overbooking your ticket would be endorsed to another airline, and there were no penalties imposed if you had to make date or flight changes.
There are so many more differences between yesterday's commercial aviation and today's, that I wouldn't even call it commercial aviation anymore, "commercial frustration" suits better instead, because of the way we are treated and insulted by this deplorable deterioration
of the airlines and total lack of customer service.

If I haven't made my point it means that you are afraid of flying and never boarded an airplane. Otherwise, you certainly feel about this subject the same way I do, especially if you are old enough to remember and compare.
Will it ever improve? I don't think so, unless we find other ways and alternatives to fuel, which is the excuse all airlines give you today in order to justify their deficiencies and new measures to save money, so their CEOs can continue getting a fat check every month and millions in stock options when they retire or are fired.
Take it from me, I made a 34 year career working for some of these airlines. I was one of the lucky ones who lived through the glamorous years of the airline industry and quit 16 years ago when I realized the future of the airlines industry was bleaker than that of the extinct species shoe-shine boys.

This is something I wanted to talk about for a while. It has to do with the barrage of Internet emails sent by cowards and liars against Barack Obama. The way these emails begin is with a scary title, such as... "And he could be our next President!". They are all very sneaky at the beginning, for example one of them starts telling you about some people who fled a communist country after going through unimaginable torture and suffering. They paint that story so sadly and soapy that the majority of the receivers of those emails immediately submerge into them and sympathize with the story. What they don't know is that at the very end of those pathetic, but probably true stories they have a surprise for the avid reader. It is a sublime, and sometimes not so sublime message, to warn you NOT TO VOTE FOR OBAMA. One way or another they want to scare you about a communist regime here in the USA, or that he is going to fill up the White House with Africans wearing a bone between their nostrils, or 6 wide rings around their neck, or a huge plate inserted in their lower lip.
Most of these emails are sent by people or organizations that block the receiver from sending a reply. It is part of their cowardice.
Also, many try to scare you with the calumny of Obama being a Muslim, which automatically at the same time, according to these slanderous people, every Muslim is a bad one. Although I cannot unmask any of these bad imitation of human beings, I tend to believe by their tone and lack of truth in their writings that they are frustrated narrow minded Republicans, probably very right wing fanatics and bullies. These are the same people that justify the Iraq invasion by claiming that the poor soldiers over there are protecting our freedom. Perhaps these soldiers should be sent to the White House if we really want to protect our freedom, but that is another theme I am not going to touch now. I am an American and I consider myself a patriot. This country welcomed me at the age of 20 and gave me all the opportunities a legal immigrant is given by our government. We never started a war and the only times we broke that privilege were Vietnam and Iraq, both unnecessary and totally irrelevant to our freedom and economy . We were the world heroes and saviors, the example to follow, the best middle class on this planet,and a society envied by all. What we now have is a racist society more visible and audible than ever, thanks to the Internet, where all these cowards can hide while sending lies to every one of us. I am going to warn you about one screen name: " JOHANNA SHAGER-HOCKER.
I don't know who she really is, except that she is definitely a right wing Republican and a RACIST. I have more untraceable names, but I will only disclose them here when I investigate a little bit more.
So please don't tell me that the reason Obama is not 30 points ahead of McBush is because his lack of experience and youth. It is RACISM.

That is what we've been told by "The Denial Masters". Maybe they are right. Maybe we should see the economy and the war and health care and gas prices and everything else that we "think" it's going wrong as a product of our vivid imagination. OK, I am going to start right now...Poof!
What a wonderful life! This is my itinerary for tomorrow: First, after I get up and listen to the news my reply to those broadcast liars will be "You are sooo negative! You are trying to scare us with news about recession, depression, inflation and all the negative -ations about our Nation. How poetic is that? I am not going to get psychologically influenced by your crap "
This is the best country in the world and we are better now than ever before! Our Commander-in-Chief said so this morning at the same time the Chairman of the Federal Reserve was giving us a report to scare us even more. Some nerve! Who picks these guys? And whatever our big honcho says we need to respect and adhere to with our eyes closed. He liberated us from Saddam Hussein and we should always be thankful for that. Imagine if Hussein were still alive? (I am trying to figure it, believe me).
I think I am regressing, sorry. Where were we...oh yes, we are a bunch of whiners and we are psychologically influenced by the media and those liberals!
So, after listening to the absurdities we have to deal with every single day for the last 7 years, I will go to fill up my gas tank and if it shows $90 in the pump I will go inside the gas station and hand the cashier a $50 bill. If he/she asks me for the other $40 my answer will be logical and emphatic: "I know you think the pump shows $90, but it is only in your mind, so take the $50 and please stop whining. You are not helping our emotional state".
Right after that I will run to my car and zoom as fast as I can, just in case that stupid cashier decides to call the police, who are probably also psychologically damaged by all these lies.
My next destination will be the supermarket. I go there about 3 times a week because, me too, I have been whining under the influence of the news and have, for the last two years. been under the impression that I could not afford to do a one big shopping. Thus if I split it into three times I do not get so psychologically sick. Anyway, I will fill up the cart and again I will pay cash, to avoid being ripped off by the cashier who even knowing that the computer is rigged will try to charge me more than what it really is. It is possible that I will save on this quick transaction about $60 bucks easily. You got it...I will speed off to my car, throw everything into the trunk and fly away to...my next destination: Home sweet home, where my mortgage, according to the bunch on incompetent Bank employees, is overdue. They are the worst offenders when it comes to whine. If your payment is not in their hands on the due date they start panicking and creating such a psychological confusion that they end up making us believe that we really owe them the monthly mortgage payment. Awful group of whiners!

It is raining and very dark and humid, although it's only 11 am. After unloading the car and loading the refrigerator I turn the air conditioned on to cool off from all that running and escaping from those whiners. I turn all the lights in the living room, after all we should take advantage that electricity is at the cheapest it has ever been. Wait till I get the statement from the only company that controls the electric energy where I live! Are they for a surprise when they realize I caught them lying in the billing, pretending it should be $300, when in reality I know it is under $100, and that's what I will send them! And if they whine with reminders and collection agencies and threatening to shut my power off I will remind them that they are not been patriotic, they are not in touch with reality and that the three rates increases for the last three years was just gossip, they never went through except in their weak minds psychologically massaged by the media and yes, those liberals!

I have never been in jail before. This is awful! Thank God they gave me a pen and some paper so I can continue telling you about all these whiners who believe the economy is the worst it has been in the last 20 years or more. The cops showed up in my house and arrested me alleging I had committed a crime by walking off (ran off, actually) from a gas station and a supermarket without paying or paying less, whatever. I tried to explain to them but they told me I had the right to remain silent, so I did. I will be released in a few hours because it's my first offense, but I have to appear in front of a Judge to explain why i did it and get my sentencing or dismissal. I hope I don't get a delusional Judge who believes the economy and everything else is going south. If that happens I am in deep trouble! I WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO PROOF THAT THEY ARE ALL WHINERS AND I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO KNOWS THAT
THIS IS ALL A PSYCHOLOGICAL STATE UNDER WHICH THEY ARE
TOTALLY BLINDED.

The best thing i could do, while out on my own recognizance, should be to contact the White House and try to get my President to stand by me as i followed his thinking, but I am sure he will be busy preparing for the next speech regarding how well we are doing in Iraq. I would not want to interrupt his trend of thoughts, because when he is inspired we all should listen, like E.F.Hutton. Bad example, sorry. I forgot they went bankrupt, probably for whining more than anybody else.

And that "my friends" (so wonderful to emulate McCain, the only guy with war experience, albeit as a prisoner all the time) is what happened to me for not joining the whiners.

A POSSIBLE STORY

Fortunately, so far, this is a bad nightmare based on real facts. I hope it never happens, but just in case... here it goes...

Once upon a time, in a very remote land, called Bestonia, where no one would leave, except to the other world (is there another world?), there lived an almost-old man with his almost-old wife. They had both been celebrating his retirement and whatever was left of his 401K (considering that on September 11, 2001 he had lost a big chunk of well earned and saved money from more than 30 years of hard work and stressful days).

His name was Adam. her name Eve. Well, not really, but those names fit perfectly well, because sooner or later the nightmare would commence and they would eventually also lose their clothes too.

One day, after many years of living happily, things started to change in that land, which many claimed as the "Best Land in the World" (Hence the name...Bestonia). All the basic things to maintain a joyful peaceful life started going downwards. It all began with an invasion to a foreign land, where its people, in spite of all the deficiencies and lack of freedom, lived considerably contempt, as long as they would not infringe in their master's deranged ideology.

The original excuse for that invasion was to protect the entire planet earth from a possible man-caused-cataclysm, also known as Weapons of Mass Destruction, or WMDs. The excuse kept changing along the years to accommodate to the C.Y.A (and CIA too) convenience, as one by one, all excuses became apparent they were just that, excuses, justifications to hide the real purpose of that invasion. The invaders, along the years, depleted all the budgets assigned to different sectors of the economy in their own land to sustain their occupation, while many big corporations profited from it. Among them, Exxon Mobil, Shell Oil, BP, Chevron, and Halliburton, KBR, CACI, Titan, and Blackwater. I probably left out many more, but I am not a researcher, I am just a story teller who also lives in Bestonia, and who cares about Adam and Eve and their family's future.

Five years after that invasion the price of a barrel of oil shut up from $30 to $135, and that uncontrollable rise was felt at the gas pumps. People started paying more than $5 for a gallon of petrol, commonly known in that far, far away land as "gas".

As a consequence of the unmanageable cost of gasoline, all food products suffered unimaginable price increases, mainly the healthy ones, such as fruits and vegetables, because all those products had to be transported from other lands across the oceans. See, Bestonia could not grow them anymore because one of the parties that ran the land decided it was time to deport all illegal foreigners, who had entered Bestonia through areas that originally belonged to them and lost to another of the Bestonian invasions, many years ago. Therefore, Bestonia was left without farm workers. No more fruit pickers, no more vegetables growers. No more good healthy food. Imagine, Bestonians were not going to perform jobs for less than the minimum approved salary by their rulers, who had recently passed a bill to guarantee themselves the sum of $15,000 a month for life during their retirement.

Nevertheless, some of the more necessitated Bestonians who had lost their jobs to natives of India working in Bangalore for at least 1/10th of the salary, applied for odd jobs which they would have never done under normal circumstances. One of these weird jobs entailed picking tomatoes. Obviously, the tomato farmers made a colossal mistake giving these Bestonian those jobs. First because they had to dish out more money to meet the minimum salary requirements; and second because this was hard work, with no time to get to a bathroom to relief themselves. Consequently...Salmonella spread throughout the vast land of Bestonia by consuming those tomatoes. Rumor has it that this epidemic was probably caused by the few remaining illegal foreigners as a way to retaliate for their comrades sent back to their lands of origin, but the theory of hard work and incontinence by the new laborers was not far fetched either.

As everything in life, one thing lead to another and Bestonians had to be driven to hospitals, where many of them died waiting on line or trying to fill up 187 different forms to make sure, in case they would not die, the bills would be paid for, or if they succumbed to Salmonella somebody in their family would have to cough it up, should the insurance refuse to cover the $100 charge for a couple of aspirins administered by a licensed Filipino nurse.

All these back and forth trips to hospitals, added to the regular commuting to/from their jobs, plus the sky rocketing prices at the supermarkets, became a gargantuan burden and finally lead most Bestonians to bankruptcy. Unfortunately, the Maximum Ruler of Bestonia for the last 7 1/2 years, had passed a command eliminating the Personal Bankruptcy for all individuals. Big Corporations had nothing to worry, as the rule did not apply to them. Some of those screwed people from that immense land had a little money saved and opted for staying home and would walk to their closest supermarket to buy some groceries, except fruits and vegetables, and milk and many other items, that had experienced a price increase of up to 50% . Meanwhile they hoped that "things" would change by themselves, as if that ever happens. They really did nothing to provoke a change. Actually, all they did was to complain and whine, but they, as usual, were contempt with their situation because during many years of brain washing, they knew they lived in the Best Country in the World, Bestonia!

Unfortunately, nothing changed and Bestonians found themselves in a real jam. They already had lost their jobs to outsourcing, and now their savings got depleted. Soon they could no make payments on their homes either, actually on homes owned by the Banks or Mortgage companies, because let's face it, Bestonians, unless very rich or well off, never owned a home. Those homes were always owned by those Banks and/or Mortgage companies. Bestonians just made monthly payments to live in them, and no matter how much they paid and how many years had passed, they still owed the same amount of money due to a brilliant idea by those Banks, called Equity Loan. That caused millions of "homeowners" to default and "their homes" to go on the "F" word. (In this case both words apply...
...Foreclosure, and the other one you thought of first).

Adam and Eve, who saw the handwriting on the wall (who ever came up with that stupid saying?), decided to cut down on many superfluous things, such as long trips, clothes, Blackberries, long distance calls, the already mentioned unaffordable fruits, except bananas imported from another land, shoes, prescription eyeglasses, and dental care. Of course, gas was now a luxury, and every short trip to the food store or to the Doctor of the Week (remember that Adam and Eve where retired and their lives were programmed around food shopping and medical specialists) was calculated to eliminate backtracking, thus reducing gas consumption in their mid size car. It should also be noted that the mid size car they owned was sold to them as a good gas guzzler, 21 in the city and 27 in highways, but like everything else Bestonians bought, the real mileage was 14 in the city and 21 on the road.
Ah, those car sales people! and double Ah!, those TV commercials!

The years passed and although the economy improved a little bit, the damage was already done and Bestonia and most of the lands in the planet were never the same. Adam and Eve eventually passed away, but their children and grandchildren, and their great grand children had to witness all the changes that occurred on planet Earth. Bestonia and many other lands had been given new names by their owners. names such as HSBC Holdings, General Electric, Bank of America, J.P.Morgan Chase, Exxon Mobil, AT&T, Walmart, Chevron, AXA, and many more.
These were the rulers now. There was no more middle class. There were only 2 defined groups, The Corporates and the Poorates. Life as we knew it in the 50s, or 60s when Adam and Eve were proud of being Bestonians, had suffered tremendous changes. Instead of Elvis Presley or Nat King Cole, or Frank Sinatra, or Charles Aznavour, Earth was now the most noisy planet in the universe. Musicians and singers did not play their instruments or sang songs. They competed to break noise decibel records. Even Rap was considered outmoded and nerdy!

There was no more food, except in the form of pills invented by major Pharmaceutical companies and approved by the FDA, which in turn would get a big chunk of the generated sales.

Sex was only allowed if you paid a special tax to these companies. How did they control that? Very easy, most of the pills you ingested as food contained a fatal sperm killer. If you wanted to have sex then you had to buy THE PILL. It was only good for one shot, but it became the best seller of them all.

Until one day, whether because of the noise pollution, or the other killer pollution, Earth exploded and shattered throughout the universe. It was the end of it all!

Adam woke up that morning and his heart was pounding faster than ever. IT WAS A NIGHTMARE! OR...WAS IT?

POLITICAL GARBAGE FLOODS THE INTERNET

We've been watching the news and we are horrified by the tragedy in Iowa, where so many homes have been washed out and so many families are now trying to pick up the pieces after losing everything they had to mother nature. Of course, faulty levees built by unscrupulous engineering firms, and cheap construction collaborated in this demise. Our hearts are with these suffering people and we hope that the Bush administration redeems itself from the other catastrophic event during Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans 2 years ago. That said I will remit to a different type of flood that is happening on a daily basis on the Internet. THE POLITICAL GARBAGE FLOOD. There isn't one single day that I don't open my email and find a piece of garbage forwarded to me by friends or family, who unbeknown to them (and this is the real problem) they also forward to other people. A geometrical progression occurs and all of a sudden thousands of people receive the same garbage.

These are emails generated by cowards who have a way to hide within the vast world of "Planet Cybernia" with phony names and undeliverable email addresses to avoid a reply from people like me who investigate all the lies they try to choke us with. They have a political hidden agenda, but the only way they know and choose to persuade us is by fabricating or using false material as truth. I would like to mention 2 names which I have seen now quite often as generators of false information. One of them is Gary Hancock, and the other one Joanna Shager Hocker. I don't even know if these people exist or these are invented names, like the information they send. The only Gary Hancok I knew was this mediocre baseball player from the late 70s and early 80s who played for the Red Sox and Oakland A's. As for Joanna Shager Hocker, the only thing I could find out in Google was a Psychologist somewhere with the same name. Both characters who send this political garbage have probably different names, and their cowardice can only be matched by their sick desire to spread their lies through the Internet.

If you read this blog I strongly recommend you do like I do every time I receive an email from a friend or a family member,which contains political information to demean or disgrace a political figure, generally degrading either a Democrat or democrats in general. I click on http://www.snopes.com/ and verify the authenticity of the article. I must say that so far, 100% of all the emails I have checked with http://www.snopes.com/ containing political information they are "so nicely sharing with us", are totally FALSE.

It is unfortunate that some people don't know how to accept defeat and the only thing left for them is to send us unsolicited garbage against a democratic candidate or a bill passed by the democratic majority in Congress, or to blame Bill Clinton for the mess created by George W. Bush and Dick Cheney and his corporate cronies in the last 7 1/2 years.

If you happen to be a Republican, please don't take offense, this is not directed at you, unless you are a right wing extremist fascist who believes women are second-rated citizens, and all Hispanics should be deported, whether illegal or not. Then do, please, BE OFFENDED. My pleasure.

Tim Russert and the lesson

Tim Russert is dead but not his legacy. It was a shocking news, as it happened suddenly without any warning. He was 58.

I am not going to talk about Mr. Russert, or Tim, as everyone used to know him, because the TV media, especially NBC and its affiliates is doing that and with great love and admiration. I cannot top that, although in my thoughts I think of a million things why this man was examplary to all of us.

The lesson he gave us in life is what I would like to talk about. We have to disect this Tim Russert 101 class into two different courses, the lesson in humanity and the lesson in professionalism. With him, these two subjects never collided, in fact they blended very well and made him what he was.

What I learned from him as a person is that the basic things in life are the ones we tend to neglect as we take them for granted. We take for granted our family; we don't get passionate enough about our sport team (avoiding to cross the line into fanatism); we don't stop to look around and see where and how we live, we take for granted the smell of recently cut green grass; we keep our money (if we have any) in the bank, instead

of using it to live more comfortably; we don't help those in need because we are selfish. I don't go on for fear of being categorized as a "daisy picker" and that I am not.

TV OR NOT TV

Yes. Pretty corny, but I could not think of another title that denotes how confused I am about this incredible device that controls our lives.

I can't deny that I enjoy PBS when they have a rerun of the Doo-Bops. I don't know why since I am only 35. Family and friends...shut up!

I also like Animal Planet for its scientific value, not because I am an animal person, you know what I mean. Some sports, like the World Cup Soccer or the Eurocup; the 162 games played by the Marlins, which my wife watches religiously and I have to deal with it whether they win or lose. I hate to continue watching a game when my team is losing. Too stressful. And I also like science fiction. Anything with science fiction, even of the caliber of "Q"!

OK, so now you know , in my case, the first part of that Shakespearean famous quote. The bad part, the "Not TV" one includes the Local News, where all the non-sport news are about who got killed, raped, and crashed on the road; and the sports news about some who-cares-high-schools teams winnning or losing to other who-cares-less-team schools. Well, maybe the players parents are very proud, but... correct me if I am wrong...Aren't we ripped off by the Cable Company or the Satellite Network providing us with the audio and images just as those proud parents are? How about if some of the Local News could add a daily segment regarding Old Farts pride achievements, like...

"How to go to the bathroom at least 3 times a week without causing hemorrhoids pain"...or "Sex in the Rocking Chair"?

Here is more of the "NO TV"....Reality Shows. reality for whom? To me a reality show should be more something like how to survive with the economy crisis or how we are being held hostage by the gas companies and their providers; or what to do when you can't continue payments on your mortgage. Those are REAL topics for REALITY SHOWS. The other garbage they show on TV is just that...GARBAGE. Please keep in mind that this is my blog and I only reflect my opinion. You are entitled to yours, and you could tell me off in the "Comments" section...or start your own blog!

More on the "NO TV"? Oh, yes! The INFOMERCIALS! The infamous infomercials. The ones that force you to keep switching chanels at 3 o'clock in the morning if you are an insomniac like me, in order to find
something to put you back to sleep.

I have been listing all these NO TV culprits in reverse order of annoyance. Now comes the second annoying reason of why I would not have a television set: Senior Citizens dish out just about 10% of their social security check for a package of forty five thousand chanels (or fifty thousand, I am not sure), when at their age, after one program they are already asleep. The rest of the population need to work to earn a salary. They also need to commute, and to sleep. Those are basic and irrefutable requirements to have a job and to maintain it. Thus...how many hours are there left to watch TV? Why can't those cable and satellite companies allow people to select chanels, like we do when we go to a restaurant to eat? Imagine if we ordered lasagna and we would be told we also had to pay for chicken cacciatore and eggplant parmigiana as a "package deal"?

And now...the number one reason why I HATE Television!....

THE LOUSY COMMERCIALS during any program. They are the worst I have ever seen since 1961, They are false, mainly lies, loud, low class, stupid, lacking originality and subliminal with the intention of brain washing. They all insult our intelligence. Well, there are a very few exceptions, but just a number you can count with your fingers. Worst of all...WE ARE PAYING to watch those awful commercials! Unless, of course, you master the art of muting them by being the Quick Draw McGraw of the remote control. Nevertheless, even if you could pull the trigger faster than Doc Holiday, do we need all that stress in order to watch TV? Here is an idea to all of you lying and malicious companies...Since you've been bombarding us for years and years with a bunch of lies and deceptive advertising and we already know that you exist, unfortunately, why don't you save all that money that you waste and use it for instance...to lower the cost of your products? It would be a win win proposition. Who knows, perhaps we would even start liking you!

Definitely :"NO TV" outweighs "TV".

PREDICTABLE PREDICTIONS BY NOSTRODAGONAMUS

Sometimes I get these incredible feelings about the future. I see things happening as a consequence of this weak economy. I am neither an expert on the subject, nor I pretend to be. Let us say I try to see it in a logical way and that I have the virtue, among all my mistakes, of directing my instincts instead of letting them flow on a mere emotional basis. In other words, I think. Excuse me for my arrogance.

Given that introduction and without further adieu (ado?), like it is routinely said, here are my PREDICTABLE PREDICTIONS:

1. Gas will hit the $4.00 a gallon average price before Labor Day

2. The remaining of 2008 will bring more foreclosures to the point of
creating an economical chaos in the country. Various Banks will lay off
thousands of employees, which will cause a domino reaction in other
related fields, thus contributing to a dramatic increase in the
unemployment rate. At least to 7%, although we will be told that
it is no more than 5%.

3. All food products will average a 15% increase, at least through May
2009, with Milk, vegetables and fruits suffering the highest hike to
about 25%

4. The following stores will be either reducing their presence or going out
of business in the next 9 to 12 months:
Albertson's Supermarkets
Miami Subs
Gateway Personal Computers
Blockbusters
Carvel Ice Cream Parlors
Bealls
Best Buy
Joann's Craft Stores
Little Caesar Pizzerias

5. Most USA airlines will be charging extra for window and aisle seats.
Duh!

I have more in my list but enough with depressing news. Now some
good predictions, although totally unrelated to the economy, or should
I say...Precisely because they have nothing to do with the economy?:

1. There will be no major hurricanes to worry about in Florida from June
through December 2008

2. The housing market will begin its recuperation around April of 2010.
It will be a gradual improvement, which will reach its zenith sometime
during 2014. However this recovery at its highest point will be at
least 5% below the overinflated house market we experienced before
we started the plunge.

3. At least 50 % of our troops in Iraq will start the return home in the fall
of 2009. That in itself is a victory, although no one can define what is
victory in that war/invasion.

4. Both the Miami Heat and the New York Knicks will be in contention
for the playoffs during the 2008-2009 season. Laugh all you want.

5. This one is more believable...The Yankees will finally win it all in
2008. Sorry Mets fans!
6. I, therefore predict that Yankees fans are now liking me; while Mets
fans think I am an asshole. I can take it.

We now come to the end of my predictions with a Grand Finale...
I predict that no matter how bad Obama or Hillary may perform during their mandate, either one will make us forget George W. Bush. Thank God! (Yes, I am discarding McCain. Please! You didn't think I was going to predict he would be our next President!)

I am aware that George Carlin is the master of "quotes", thus I will not even attempt to come close, but here are some of my "deep thoughts".

1. If the Market drops 300 points, why are those morons up there
applauding at closing time?

2. If Mouth to Mouth Resuscitation is now considered useless and no
longer adviced (The latest report says that only CPR should be applied
to victims)...can someone caught giving mouth to mouth be sued for
sexual harassment?

3. If the excuse given by the big oil companies on their profits is that they
are looking for the welfare of their share holders...should we make
those shareholders pay $5.00 for a gallon of gas and reduce the rest of
the citizens cost to $3.00/gal.?

4. If an item costs $999.99...why do we get a rebate after purchase of
$50.00, and not of $49.99?

5. If most basketball games are won in the last 3 minutes....why don't
we just turn the TV on to watch say...only the last 5 minutes?

6. If a razor blade is so good that it can last forever (TV commercial tells
us "you don't need to buy another one ever!")...why do they tell you
"You get the second one for free?"

7. If the doctor prescribes a medicine for dizziness...why does the label
indicates "warning, it may cause drowsiness".

8. If the newest photo cameras are called "Digital"...what did we use to
press the button on the old cameras? Was it not a finger, also known as
a digit?

9. If we are worried about security in our country...why do we keep all our
forces in other countries?

and...

10 If we only use our feet in 2 isolated occasions (field goal and
punting) during a Football game...why do we call it "FOOTball" and
why do we call it SOCCER when we use our feet most of the times?
Also...do we throw a bowl down the alley or is it a ball?

Alright, alright, Carlin has nothing to fear from me, but I just wanted to share these thoughts with the 2 or 3 persons who read my blogs.

AND NOW...TV HOME INTERIOR DECORATING SHOWS!

I finally succumbed to this plague! They are all over, at all times, in every channel! Credit goes to HGTV for being the first one.

These decorating shows are the revenge provided by television to sports programs widows. Actually, in my humble opinion, they have gone overboard. I personally like the ones where they take a mediocre to bad kitchen and convert it into a super deluxe room with major new appliances, all the latest models in features and expensive stainless steel. Granite counters, complete new wooden cabinets, and a center island, fully equipped. Additionally, a tiled backsplash and wooden laminated floors. All that for only $35,000. My question is this: If you own a home with an original kitchen needing all those changes, isn't that because you could not afford a house with a kitchen as the new one to begin with? Where were you hiding those $35K? Or a few years ago you found out about a new type of fuel for your car that costs much less than gas and no one else knows?

Here is another one of the unlikely unbelievable things in those programs...They are running out of time! They only have less than 2 hours before the make-believe surprised owner gets back to the house, and they still have not even cut the wood for the new wall to wall unit, plus
someone is half way through a non-personality non-character painting on a 8 x 6 canvas that also needs framing. Miracle! Just before the bell rings
the last nail is in place, all paintings are hanging in the right place, and the customary basket or bowl shines proud on the living room table with real fruit! Wow! what a team of decorators!

How about the one where two couples exchange homes for a day to convert each other's home into something unrecognizable, with the help of decorators, of course. Fortunately they only destroy one room of their homes. This one gets worse when one of the decorators, who wears black all the time and high heels during her "performance", decides to glue toilet paper and brown bags onto the walls, with an even all over sprinkle of pheasant feathers for the final touch. That's classy my friends!

But the best of these shows is how much you learn. First you learn that you cannot give a shit (oops, sorry) about your place; then you learn that with only $35,000 you previously robbed from a Bank you can change your kitchen; and finally, you also learn that with a few key words you may sound like you are also a decorator! DECADENT, FAUX, STRESSED and VINTAGE being the 4 cardinal words of decoration.

I would write more about this, but there is a soccer game on GOLTV in half an hour and I need to get ready for it!

THREE WRONGS MAKE A BIG WRONG

I had threatened that my next blog would deal with TV Home Decorating Shows, but I also had the wit to claim I reserved the right to change my mind. SO I am (so in capital letters has a double meaning which you will find out at the end of this blog).

Michigan and Florida are ignored by the Democratic Party. Over two million people who took their time to cast their ballot will probably not be counted because The National Democratic Party is punishing both States or both Democratic candidates. They are being " punished " because both States moved their primaries ahead of scheduled time. Are they really punishing the two democratic candidates or are they punishing us, the voters? After all, the right to vote is an undeniable right of any American citizen and we are being deprived of it. Yes, we voted, but the Democratic party considers our vote Null and Void, like a bad check.
This action only proves one thing to me: WE DON'T COUNT. All these political machines are controlled by laws that were thought of without taking the voter into consideration, like anything else most laws are concocted for.

While this saga of allowing our votes to count, or agreeing into a Primary re-do, or a mail-in vote, or doing nothing at all and maintaining a "status-quo" is taking its toll in time and in candidates efforts to map their strategies for the next States Primaries, John McCain, Bush's self assigned temporary Middle East Ambassador now, is telling us that Iran is training Al-Qaeda to send them back to Iraq to continue terrorism. Fortunately for him, Senator Lieberman (the Democratic traitor) whispered to his ear that Iranians are Shiites, and Shiites do not train their enemies the Sunnis (Al-Qaeda terrorists are Sunnis). McCain corrected himself after his pursuit to confuse more the issues, in order to confuse us. One must conclude that the only experience he has in this war (invasion) is probably the same he had in Vietnam, where the poor guy spent 5 miserable years as a prisoner of war, tortured and alien to the combat field. He survived that, thank God, and he made it to the US Senate, showing good judgement in most of his contributions, including being against the war, until he decided he wanted to run for President. He will not survive this coming election if he keeps showing us his ignorance about the Middle East, being comfortable with a 100-year war (invasion) in Iraq.

And the third wrong...Darth Cheney, founder of the Dark Side, was asked
how he felt about the majority of US citizens finding the war in Iraq to be a gross mistake, not worth fighting. His answer to that question was: SO? which translates into: WHO GIVES A DAMN ABOUT ANYONE,
AS LONG AS I, MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE AND OWNER OF A GIFT BOAT BY THE SULTAN OF OMAN CAN GO FISHING WHILE OUR TROOPS ARE DYING FOR THE WRONG CAUSE.

There are many more WRONGS in the current political scenario we are all engulfed in, but it would take exactly 8 years to tell them all.

This is probably the most ridiculous of all my "How ridiculous is this" blogs. It's about blogging, just the way I've been doing for the past year.

Why do we blog? Some do it to communicate with the entire Internet, others to share their thoughts with a bunch of people, including friends and family; and me...well...I do it to get in touch with my children, my second cousin Lisa, and very few close friends. It started with a larger goal, as I included other members of my family, such as cousins, distant friends, and even ex wives. But I soon realized that I was being too presumptuous, expecting all of them to comment on my writings, thus I have given up on them already to just concentrate on my children, Lisa, and a couple of friends. Pretty soon I will have to give up on at least one friend, and perhaps one child. They are either very busy or my blogs bore them. I would like to think that it is the

former. I hope so, for beeing busy will be easier for me to digest than to have someone yawn on my behalf.

However, in the "remote" event that my blogs are so boring, I from now on will write for 3 persons only. My son, who loves this type of conversation and has himself a very interesting blog under the name of " THE BLOGRUNNER", Lisa, and myself. I do get a good feeling when I write. It is therapy without a therapist. Writing comes in second after my golf on Wednesdays, which is the best mind absenteeism device created.

I am also writing this because I am sure that I will only get 2 comments maximum. It is a way to prove my point.

So... is this a ridiculous subject or what?

Abundant and overflowing. We have plenty of it in our government among politicians. If I am not mistaken, and why should I be? I listen very carefully to all TV commentators, poll specialists, Delegates analyzers, statisticians, and all I do is come up with realistic conclusions in what they say.

For example: Geraldine Ferraro, recently crucified by all for saying that the main reason why Obama is winning primaries and caucuses is because he is black. First of all let me clear the air by saying that yes he is black. And second he is an incredible demagogue, a very smart politician and above all a very good candidate to change this country around from the mess Bush and Associates got us in. That said...80 to 90% of black votes have been going to him in most primaries. while the general white vote has also been very favorable, although way below the black vote, but enough to make him so successful. Ms. Ferraro did not say anything against Mr. Obama. She just formulated an opinion, hers. Not the conventional hypocritical politically correct opinion. She was definitely, within the realm of stinky political base, incorrect. Did she do it because after we reach a certain age we say whatever we feel like? After all we've been accommodating to standards set by others all our lives. This time she wanted to be herself, honest and outspoken. Did not work Ms. Ferraro! You can't be yourself when you are a public figure, and especially if you are involved in a candidate's campaign. You need to remain silence and never ever express your true feelings, especially if they may incite the opposition. You gave them an excuse to keep exploiting the already over exploited issue on one-way racism. We cannot be blind to the fact that there is racism in this country, and that there is also prejudice against woman and senior citizens. But those subjects need to remain mute in the political arena, where the truth is only a good lie covered with sweet chocolate.
I challenge anyone to convince me that 90% of a certain population, black or white, young or old, man or woman, does not affect an election. That is what Geraldine Ferraro meant. There was not an iota of racism in her comment, just the truth. The truth always hurt, although most of the times it is needed. Not this time, unfortunately.

Ah, in case you think I am a racist or discriminate against anyone, if Obama becomes the Democratic candidate to oppose RoboCain (I could not resist) I will vote for him, but like Geraldine Ferraro, I am staying firm with my comments, for integrity and principles should always prevail over fear and convenience. Besides, I would rather call Obama at 3 am than waking up McCain. I understand he's got a short fuse. And calling Mrs. Hillary Clinton might give Mr. Clinton an opportunity to reciprocate...

COUROPHOBIA OR COULTERPHOBIA?

Courophobia is the fear to clowns. Coulterphobia is the fear to Ann Coulter.

Clowns use a lot of make up to hide their real identity. Ann Coulter too, although the make up is inside.

Clowns make people laugh with their stupid acts. Coulter makes people laugh with her stupid comments. Deep inside we dislike both clowns and Coulter, because they are not who they really are. Many clowns are usually sad people in their normal lives. Coulter hides her sadness with her insults and demeaning comments.

MONEY BUYS THE PRESIDENCY

Who cares about the issues? Not here. The next US President will be elected based on how much money above the other candidates he/she will collect from contributors to spend on "messages". Let us analyze that:

Barak Obama is cleaning up with an average of 1.5 million dollars a day Hillary Clinton about 1 million/day, and McCain close to a million a day.

Since the primaries will be going at it for a total of 11 months, we can easily estimate that the total amount contributed towards these candidates will exceed the amount of $1,155,000,000 (yes you read it correctly: Over 1 billion dollars!).

All that money will go to waste! It will be spent on COMMERCIALS/ADVERTISING! Better known in the primaries lingo as APPROVED MESSAGES.

Unfortunately, most voters have no idea of the candidates track record on any issue whatsoever. They don't have a clue. Thus the only source they have to compare is the TV message, which ends with the candidate reminding the prospective voter what his/her name is and approving the "message". So let's say that candidate "A" wants the audience to know that he/she alone passed 250 bills in Congress to boost the economy, assist needed children, increase Social Security payments, cover 100% of health care expenses, etc., etc. All those lies can be easily covered with a few commercials ran for a whole month during prime time. The candidates buy the airtime with the money we donated, and we, ignorant that we are about the real accomplishments of this candidate, "buy" the message.

So this is how we choose a candidate. The more we give, the more they spend on television, and the more votes they get from the people who believe anything they see on TV. Of course, at the end our votes may not count due to the incredible "democratic" way of selecting a President by electoral votes of the feared Delegates!

There are, of course, other factors that influence the vote, such as speeches and debates, The better the speaker the higher the chances to win. Again, it is not the track record that counts because no one really knows what any candidate really stands for on any issue until he becomes the Commander-In-Chief. Thus, words speak better than facts with these politicians.

I, for one, have a rule of thumb to select a candidate. If the leaving Commander-In-Chief was a complete ZERO (what an incongruous thing! Complete and Zero!) I pick the candidate that distances himself/herself the most from the exiting president. No rocket science about this, just mere logical thinking.

But the best rule of thumb is definitely THE MONEY. The candidate that spends more money in "messages" on TV will be our next President. God Bless America.

Note: The amount in dollars are estimates based on what we hear from different TV News programs. There is a possibility that our figures might be wrong, but... who gives a hoot? Everything is permitted in the political arena.

YES, I AM A PROUD LIBERAL

It is so infuriating to hear the republicans talk about the democrats as "Liberals" as if that was an insult or a demeaning word.
For those who do not understand the real meaning of "Liberal " this is what the dictionary says about it: HAVING, EXPRESSING, OR FOLLOWING VIEWS OR POLICIES THAT FAVOR THE FREEDOM OF INDIVIDUALS TO ACT OR EXPRESS THEMSELVES IN A MANNER OF THEIR OWN CHOOSING ". Also: "TOLERANT OF THE IDEAS OR BEHAVIOR OF OTHERS".

Additionally, from the Latin "LIBERALIS" = OF FREEDOM, and
" LIBER " = FREE.

Considering that this country boasts freedom as the God given right to all of us, and considering that we want to "give" freedom to oppressed countries (i.e. Iraq), being a liberal is a compliment, which we Democrat Liberals should thank the Republicans for reminding us every day during political campaigns, primaries, and elections.

We should also thank them for calling us liberals when we try to protect the rights of a woman to have a justifiable abortion, a woman who has been raped by a subhuman species allowed to live among us and to have legal representation in court, while he is being dressed in a suit and tie and he is being called sir or gentleman by the justice. I am definitely a liberal who supports the choice of that woman to end the horrifying experience she had to suffer. Experience that was not commanded by God, but by the devil. Since we are so religious too in our country, it is important to make that clarification.

Yes, I am a liberal when I oppose the "war" in Iraq, an invasion that has already sent to their death 3,300 young Americans fighting for the material interests of a few and not to defend our country, as it is intended to be labeled by the republicans.

Yes, I am liberal when I see people suffering with incurable diseases and I want our government to do extensive Cell Stems research to find cures for these people, instead of debating about the religious aspect of it, as if we were experts on the wishes of God. Although I am sure that God does not want us to have cancer, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and other republican accepted plagues.

Yes, I am a liberal when I see that the big oil companies announce billions of profit every year while there are 40 million children living in poverty.

Yes, I am a liberal when I know that the level of education in our country
is substandard compared to many European and other civilized countries and I don't see anything being done to motivate teachers to be better and students to take more interest in their future and less in their below the waist baggy pants.

Yes, I am a liberal who wants every American to have access to health insurance without having to foreclose on his/her house to afford it. A liberal who wants to be able to have control of his life instead of being a commodity entry in an HMO's ledger.

Yes, I am a liberal who worked very hard for 34 years, contributing to the tax and social security pool, to realize that now I am a forgotten member of society who gets a 2.4% increase on his monthly check, while the cost of living goes up 20%, while the big corporations keep showing higher profits than in previous years, and the pharmaceutical companies are allowed to mark up their medicines up to 2000% over the production cost.

Yes, I am a liberal who wants the economy to jump out of this sunken ship for 7 years, by creating a different type of energy for the cars we drive, other than gas, a different approach to creating new jobs in relation to the global warning, a menace to our planet, and bringing back the outsourced employment to the USA, where it belongs.

Yes, I am a liberal, when I believe that the immigration rumpus regarding illegals can be solved by integrating all these people to our society, by giving them proper documentation and making them an integral part of our system with its benefits and penalties. At the same time that we establish strong border measures to avoid the entry of future illegals.

Yes, I am a liberal with the intelligence to know that when people are born in the physical body of any of the two sexes, their genes may be of the opposite gender, and they are prisoners of their own existence. Thus, they have the right to be what their souls tell them and we have no right to condemn them and forbid them from having the same rights as we all "normal" (according to republicans) people have.

And yes I am a liberal when I can vote for a black person or a woman, while republicans prefer to elect a white Anglo-Saxon candidate on the basis of his religion, faked patriotism and phony hypocritical strict antiquated values. Nevertheless, I respect the republican views, although I do not like them and do not agree with them, because I AM A PROUD LIBERAL, who believes in the real democracy and true freedom.

CAR INSURANCE COMPANIES AND THE YO-YOs

You can't go into deep analysis to determine who the yo-yo's are. It is you and me. It is all of us with a half decent driving record (more decent than half). State legislature in Florida recently eliminated the "No-Fault Insurance" because of who knows whose interest's reasons. It was probably a good measure for some and a bad one for others. It was another one of those political decisions with lawyers controlling our lives with the "Yes or No" answer in every aspect of it. The color spectrum when making laws is only Black or White, and I do not mean race, I am talking about the narrow minded politicians and the opportunistic lawmakers to make their life easier and ours even more complicated every day. There is nothing in between to reward good drivers versus bad drivers. It is either NO-FAULT insurance or FAULT INSURANCE for everybody! Pick one. If you pick No-fault your premium goes up. Should you go for the FAULT (modified now with ridiculous amounts of coverage if you want to stay at the same level of coverage as before) you may save some money but your coverage is so minimal that God forbid if you end up in a hospital for a couple of weeks after a bad car accident. You might have to get a second mortgage on your house (hoping you own one) because that modified FAULT insurance might only cover for your first two days at any hospital.

So what are the Insurance companies doing about it? NOTHING. The reason is the usual one...GREED. Insurance companies will now make more money with this new law of FAULT insurance (for lack of better word), whether you choose no medical accident coverage at all or a "token" coverage, let's say of $15,000, which will bring your premium above the level you were paying when you had NO-FAULT insurance, which provided a much larger medical coverage.

Now, some of these Insurance companies are running scared because it seems that State legislature is thinking of reversing their decision and reinstating the NO-FAULT insurance. It is a game going on between the State politicians and the "poor" Insurance companies. And guess who are the insurance companies asking support from to maintain this new status quo? Us, the insured victims! They are sending us letters asking us to contact our state representatives, senators, or the Governor's Citizen Services Hotline, etc. etc. to ask them not to approve any deal "which harms Florida drivers or takes away our savings". This is so pathetic and laughable. We are being used as yoyo's to fight for them, not for us. Nothing changes and vaseline still works.

My suggestion to these insurance companies and state legislators is as follows: Come up with a law to to eliminate the No-Fault Insurance, but that at the same time rewards the good drivers. Do away with the No-Fault but give substantial discounts to proven safe drivers. Not $20 or similar ridiculous discounts. Allow safe drivers to buy into a Medical coverage for accidents caused by others which will not increase their insurance policy above what it was before the elimination of the No-Fault, and which will provide real coverage in relation to the ridiculous hospital and medical bills that are current today, and not 5, 10 or $15,000, as they are now offering at a premium.

My suggestion to any one receiving these letters from the car insurance companies: THROW THEM AWAY. Don't fight for them. They should fight for us! They get our money!

Interesting, isn't it? These HMOs have been around screwing our lives since that conversation took place during a Republican government ran by a president and a vice president who had to resign from power. However, the damage caused was not corrected. We live, (or rather die) with it since the conversation between Richard Nixon and John D. Ehrlichman in 1971 that led to the HMO act of 1973. It's been 34 years already! And no president in this country, since, has had the courage to at least propose an alternate plan to help his constituants, mainly the poor and the middle class. The rich don't need any plan.

So here comes Hillary Clinton, running as a formidable candidate to the presidency for 2009, who has the bravery of offering a plan called "Universal Health Care" to enable us to have decent coverage. And before this plan is laid out in detail, most Americans are already against it. Apparently this plan sounds "socialist", or if you want to...even "communist!" How stupid are we? Isn't the current one administered by the HMOs a communist plan? They control our health. They tells us what we can have and what we can't. They tell us what doctors to go to. They even tell us if our illnesses are to be treated or not. Isn't that communism?
Until we remove the blindfold from our eyes, which unfortunately seems to be part of the apparel most of us permanently wear, we will never have a REAL, GOOD, HUMANE HEALTH CARE plan

I would vote for Hillary Clinton's plan if I knew we would automatically get rid of all the leaches, a.k.a HMOs. For now I am trying to find out more about her plan, without a blindfold and with an open mind. Rather than contributing to polls with complete ignorance of the facts.

Oh, yes, regarding that transcript of Nixon and Ehrlichman...are you surprised?

THE STOCK MARKET "CONOISSEURS"

What goes up must go down, and up, and down and....

That is what the Stock Market does all the time. Up and down. Just like a Roller Coaster it goes through the same high and low points, time and time again. They are both programed and manipulated, while we the riders experience the side effects. And when a financial agent wants you to buy any particular stock in the Dow Jones or Standard and Poor markets he shows you graphics for the last 20 years of the market behaviour..."Look, the S & P shows an average increase of 25% since 1988". Honestly, I really don't know what that really means, but it looks good. Until I realize, of course, that in 1988 almost everything was half the price it is today.

I am neither a stock broker, nor a big company CEO, but I am not stupid either. I know we put our little money in their hands with dreams of building a nest for the future, but what we end up doing is making these companies richer and increasing the wealth of the big shareholders. Of course, we earn a small return on our money, some times. Other times we lose our investment. They always win, regardless.

However, that is not the only issue here. I am bothered by those so called professionals in the media reporting the daily movements of the stock market and trying to "explain" to us why the market went down or up.

They don't have a clue! I have been keeping a tab in my mind of their explanations and they are so ridiculous that they even have the nerve of using the same reasons for a market surge as for a stock depression.

It is more or less like the weather announcers on TV...50% chance of rain, cloudy at times and clear otherwise. Can't go wrong with that!

My advice, if you have any little money to spare that you want to put to work for you, don't! Use it to pay off your bills, get rid of your credit cards and pay everything with cash. Consider that as the equivalent of making at least 10% on your investment (saved interest on credit cards, saved taxes on matured I.R.A's and saved taxes on partial withdrawals, etc. etc.)...And there is no risk involved!

MILK: A LUXURY ITEM

I just purchased a gallon of milk at Publix for $4.19 That is $1.19 more than the average cost of regular gas. By the way...I got the 1% container, not the whole milk. Therefore, the difference is actually more than $1.19 per gallon. Not that I am trying to justify gas prices, not at all! But milk
does not require refineries to be updated and it is not imported from the Middle East. What is then the excuse?

Trying to analyze the reasons for the price of milk has driven me insane. I honestly can't find a logical one. Thus, here are some off the wall possibilities:

1. COWS ARE ON STRIKE IN THE USA AND, LIKE MANY OTHER THINGS THEY DON'T WANT US TO KNOW, IT IS KEPT A SECRET.

2. EXXON AND CHEVRON, AND COMPANY, HAVE TAKEN OVER
ALL USA LIVESTOCK AND FARMS AND THEY ARE NOW SELLING US, FOR LARGER PROFIT,CAMEL MILK FROM THE MIDDLE EAST

3. BULLS ARE USING CONDOMS

4. COWS ARE BEING FED STEROIDS AND THEY ARE NOW STERILE

5. THE COW IS IN DANGER OF EXTINCTION (alligators, bears and
snakes, meanwhile, roam freely in our backyards)

6. WE ARE EXPORTING MOST OF OUR MILK TO "NEEDY"
COUNTRIES, THAT LATER ON WILL SEND US IN EXCHANGE A
FEW TERRORISTS.

7. WE SHIP AN AVERAGE OF 500,000 GALLONS OF MILK A MONTH
AT A NOMINAL COST TO IRAQ TO FEED OUR TROOPS. TO
OFFSET THE LOSS IN PROFIT WE ARE PAYING FOR THE
DIFFERENCE.

8. PUBLIX IS RIPPING US OFF

9. THERE IS A HIDDEN TAX IN THE MILK THAT WE STILL DON'T
KNOW ABOUT.

10 EVERY BIG CORPORATION IN THE USA DOES WHATEVER IT
TAKES TO SATISFY THEIR GREED WITH LARGER PROFITS, AND
WE DON'T HAVE A REAL CONSUMER PROTECTION AGENCY TO
PROTECT US FROM THAT.

WHY IS GAS SO EXPENSIVE?

According to the media, gas is now so expensive because the oil companies are changing, updating and modifying their refineries. They are converting into ethanol or into lima beans, or any other stupidity that they are trying to stick to us via television or printed news. Also because due to this conversion, the production is low, thus the offer is lower than what the market demands. It is a well known fact that when consumption is larger than production, prices go up. The basic idea and only truth is that all these big companies must make the same or higher profits than the previous year. THAT IS REALLY THE REASON FOR GAS PRICES TO BE SO HIGH. If Exxon-Mobil made 40 billion dollars last year, why should they make less this one? After all, the shareholders demand profits and the CEO of the company needs to buy another mansion or a new airplane. We, the stupid consumer, must pay for all those luxuries. In addition to that, at the end of the year we go to the magazine stand and purchase FORBES 500 to check who are the top 10 or 50, or 100 companies according to sales and profits. We are real masochists.

There is no point for me to prolong this commentary, with unnecessary data. You can obtain that via Google. Just enter "'OIL COMPANIES PROFITS", or anything else similar to that and you will scream of anger and disgust. My point here is not only to express my rage towards these greedy companies, but also to expose the television networks and most newspapers and magazines, that give us the news, fully massaged and distorted by these companies and commented by those so called economy experts. The "society of sheep" buys anything and everything they are told. They even find consolation when someone in the TV News, with a tremendous sense of relief, says: "If you think we have it bad here, look at Europe. Over there a gallon of gas is $7.00!
What they forget to mention is that in Europe the cars are mainly stick shift, smaller, with an average performance of 50 miles per gallon, and only used by most drivers on weekends, because public transportation is abundant, and it would be unthinkable to work more than 10 miles away from home. So to those reporters who make comparisons I suggest they do their research in detail before they open their mouths with appeasing comments.

The same way that Cindy Sheehan gave up on her quest to fight against the war in Iraq, because she realized she was alone on that fight when even the democrats in the Senate let her down, that same way, we have to give up on the gas issue. We will pay whatever those oil tycoons want because we don't have a system in this country that protects the consumer. We are at the bottom of the pyramid. Fortunately for the majority of the people, life is rosy and the mentality is so narrow that everything is accepted as long as we live in "The Greatest Country In The World".
